Lawlz. Chances are I'd be very popular if I was living somewhere other than my boring conservative suburbia. ^^
Your profile says you're 17. Are you going away to college in a year or so? You should have your opportunity then!
What part of Ohio are you from? Just curious, as I once lived in a boring suburbia town located in that state.
Well, I'm taking some classes at Kent (4 dead in Ohio - ya, that's the one) right now as a high schooler (awesome, I know!). So, yes, I'm out of the bubble on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'll meet some hippies there, definitely! ^^ I live about 15 minutes away from Kent. Hudson. You know that rich, conservative 5x5 mile swamp in the bible belt? Ya...
Too Funny!!! I lived in Stow, (a Stowbilly as we were called by the rich Hudsonites) right on Route 59 for about 14 years. Yes, Kent State can't seem to rid themselves of that mentality, a.k.a the protesting college! Take a look at that metal sculpture around Taylor and Prentice Halls, you will see a bullet hole towards the top of the structure, kind of sobering to say the least. Not to age myself, but I was a third grader living in Tallmadge, residing right next door to all of mess of May 4, 1970. Plenty of grassy areas on the Kent State campus, perfect for barefooting!
Yessir. The Hudsonites still call them Stowbillies and they're still rivals. And yes, I'm familiar with the bullet hole. It's a weird feeling to go by that statue and the parking lot spaces that are lit up and blocked off. I'm one of those kids that takes the nearby rocks and forms a peace sign with them.
"Ohio" Tin soldiers and Nixon coming, We're finally on our own. This summer I hear the drumming, Four dead in Ohio. Gotta get down to it Soldiers are cutting us down Should have been done long ago. What if you knew her And found her dead on the ground How can you run when you know? Gotta get down to it Soldiers are cutting us down Should have been done long ago. What if you knew her And found her dead on the ground How can you run when you know? Tin soldiers and Nixon coming, We're finally on our own. This summer I hear the drumming, Four dead in Ohio. lyrics by Neil Young http://youtube.com/watch?v=u1eyuH1-8A4
Depends on how you define weird, or who you think has the right to define the word weird for you. I think a big part of the male/female double standard is that guys often don't seem to notice or care if they have obvious cosmetic issues with their feet that most women would never tolerate. Some clubs now have dress codes that say women can wear sandals, but men can't. At one bar, I asked why. The guy said it was because a lot of men's feet look awful. I really couldn't argue against that.
