Hey everyone, I've had dreads going for about four months now, all natural except back-combing to help them get started. I wash weekly with Dr. B's Peppermint and add my own tea tree oil. I still have a lot of dandruff in my hair, which hasn't ever been the case with my hair, im usually dandruff free, never used head and shoulders, or anything like that. Anyone have any suggestions about what else I could mix with Dr. Bonners or any other shampoos to try.

I dunno maybe just try the tea tree oil bronners? I had been getting dandruff for a bit, and it was building up to quite a bit, but then I used that bronners just once and it was all gone.

I'm having the same problem. I'm going to make an anti-dandruff shampoo from a site. Maybe it will help...

make sure youre not using too much tea tree oil, cos i found that using too much in my shampoo resulted in a bit of dandruff.

yah this is true, teatree neat and too much of it can be very harsh on the skin.

ditto on the tea trea oil, a little goes a long way. HAve you tried the baking soda deep cleanse? I've heard rosemary oil works too.

I did the deep cleanse right before I stared my dreads, but not since then. I guess i'll try to look at some more local stores and find the bonners tea tree soap.

Try head and Shoulders or a medicated dandruff related shampoo once a week?

I don't think that any of those would be too good for the dreads.

they arent great for new dreads..mature dreads can handle it
the deep cleanse with teatree and rosdsemary takes care of mine pretty well
its true teatree in small doses helps dandruff but too much dries the scalp like crazy

maybe after the deep cleanse try a aloe rince to help repair and replennish the scalp
