The UN latest resolution was another example of how biased against Israel the UN has become. In the last UNHRC vote virtually all African and Arab nations voted in favour of the one sided resolution. Almost all European nations on the council abstained from the vote. Only Canada voted against the resolution. The US has rejected an offer to continue it's position on the council citing it's complete focus Israel while ignoring atrocities throughout the world.

"Canada a voice of integrity at UN"
    http://www.thestar.com/News/Columnist/article/570610

The Human Rights Council at the United Nations has now banned any criticism regarding Sharia Law and human rights in the Islamic World. http://islaminaction08.blogspot.com/2008/08/un-bans-criticism-of-islam.html

This ban on criticism includes criticism of any harsh or excessive punishment of women and children for rules and laws invented by extremists who came long after Muhammad.

Stoning victim 'begged for mercy' http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7708169.stm

Human rights groups say the council is being controlled by some Middle East and African nations, supported by China, Russia and Cuba, which protect each other from criticism. [46] This drew criticism from the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon at the ineffectiveness of the council, saying it had fallen short of its obligations. He urged countries to 'drop rhetoric' and rise above "partisan posturing and regional divides"[47] and get on with defending people around the world.[46] This follows criticism since the council was set up, where Israel has been condemned on most occasions and other incidences in the world such as Darfur, Tibet, North Korea and Zimbabwe have not been discussed at the council.[46] Ban Ki-Moon also appealed for the United States to fully join the council and play a more active role.[47]

Well, since you have already justified Hamas making it a military outpost, no surprise.
But you justify what Hamas are teaching the children of Palestine, not buying it.

How about this sort of behavior ?? Balanced??

Of over "700 General Assembly resolutions passed since the UN's 1945 establishment, nearly 450 condemn Israel. None have been passed against any Arab country nor any Arab terrorist organizations! In other words, out of 190 nations in the United Nations, over sixty percent of all General Assembly resolutions condemned just ONE member, Israel! If the General Assembly proposed a resolution deploring Israel for breathing too much Middle Eastern air, no doubt it too would pass! So when the large bloc of anti-Israel fascist, anti-democratic, anti-Western, Arab and Islamic Neo-Nazi nations tell Israel to comply with these transparently biased AND non-binding resolutions, Israel simply tells them to "shove it.""

It looks to me like a pattern of behaviour on the part of the UN to condem Israel for it's presence in Jerusalem and for deporting Palestinians.

Resolution 127: " ... 'recommends' Israel suspends its 'no-man's zone' in Jerusalem".
Resolution 250: " ... 'calls' on Israel to refrain from holding military parade in Jerusalem".
Resolution 251: " ... 'deeply deplores' Israeli military parade in Jerusalem in defiance of
Resolution 252: " ... 'declares invalid' Israel's acts to unify Jerusalem as Jewish capital".
Resolution 267: " ... 'censures' Israel for administrative acts to change the status of Jerusalem".
Resolution 271: " ... 'condemns' Israel's failure to obey UN resolutions on Jerusalem".
Resolution 298: " ... 'deplores' Israel's changing of the status of Jerusalem".
Resolution 476: " ... 'reiterates' that Israel's claim to Jerusalem are 'null and void'".
Resolution 478 (20 August 1980): 'censures (Israel) in the strongest terms' for its claim to Jerusalem in its 'Basic Law'.

Resolution 468: ” … ‘calls’ on Israel to rescind illegal expulsions of two Palestinian mayors and a judge and to facilitate their return”.
Resolution 469:” … ’strongly deplores’ Israel’s failure to observe the council’s order not to deport Palestinians”.
Resolution 607: ” … ‘calls’ on Israel not to deport Palestinians and strongly requests it to abide by the Fourth Geneva Convention.
Resolution 608: ” … ‘deeply regrets’ that Israel has defied the United Nations and deported Palestinian civilians”.
Resolution 636: ” … ‘deeply regrets’ Israeli deportation of Palestinian civilians.
Resolution 641: ” … ‘deplores’ Israel’s continuing deportation of Palestinians.
Resolution 681: ” … ‘deplores’ Israel’s resumption of the deportation of Palestinians.
Resolution 694: ” … ‘deplores’ Israel’s deportation of Palestinians and calls on it to ensure their safe and immediate return.
Resolution 726: ” … ’strongly condemns’ Israel’s deportation of Palestinians.
Resolution 799: “. . . ’strongly condemns’ Israel’s deportation of 413 Palestinians and calls for their immediate return.

Its kind of hard to deport somebody who's family has been there for a couple hundred years already.

Many of these folks have been on the land before Israel was born. It is inhumane to evict them so imported Jews can have their land.

    Well, let's see here.

All those people above were killed by independent people, not a nation or state. Not to diminish their deaths but...

Israel is a nation. The legalities involved are considerable when a nation commits murder. Over 1000 people as of today.

Somebody is going to wind up hanging for these war crimes against humanity. The current leaders of Israel are really pressing their luck with world opinion.

No, the point is Israel is killing people to rid itself of any opposition to zionism.

    Polish Ghetto 101.

Germans tried it for advancing the cause of nazism.

Came back to bite them in later years. Israel will get the same.

Justice at the end of a rope.

I'm interested ,are you not familiar with what happened in the second world war?
let me give you some data:

    Jews in Europe before WW2 = 9,000,000
    Jews in Europe after WW2 = 3,000,000

    (rounded , source)

Palestinians in Gaza 1965 (before Israeli occupation) = 400,000
Palestinians in Gaza now = 1,500,000

    (rounded, source)

Why is it so important to you to draw this false comparison between the Nazis and the Israelis . Can't someone be wrong without being a nazi ?

As we have come to find out, not all those people died. They moved to other places, changed their names, and in some case their religion.

Zionism is the new improved Nazism.

And it's crafty enough to sucker the United States into thinking warm thoughts about it.

Our media here has always represented the Israeli side. Not until the past 10 years or so has this begun to shift. Its already causing cracks in their system.

    It needs to be encouraged.

Quick reminder to stay on topic.

This thread is about balanced/unbalanced media when it comes to the Palestinian/Israeli situation. Let's try and attack the media sources.

I learned that in public school

it's common knowledge that targeted individuals changed their religion and name to avoid being executed.
therefore it is easy to assume their "prior identity" didn't exist, because it didn't; but the human which claimed that identity did infact exist under different labels.

Back on track to how balanced the media is. Here's an exchange with Joe the Plumber, now Journalist with an Israeli reporter:

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/01/12/joe-the-plumber-fights-wi_n_157239.html

Not unlike a lot of what I see on CBS, ABC, and NBC. Last night I listened over and over again at how the rocket launches by Gaza had declined since the Israeli offensive, like that was a positive result. Over 1000+ to 13 dead.

Balanced? And the major media releases went on to say that Israel hoped to have it mopped up by innauguration day in the US. Why focus on that day if they have a specific reason for their actions? Shouldn't they be focussed on their goals rather than ours?

Oddly enough, I bet most people haven't updated the numbers in their head originally given since WWII ended. I haven't noticed anything on TV about it either.

New research uncovers stuff all the time. People have to be flexible with what we know as "history".
