my buddy told me that if i drank alot of orange juice or ate vitamin c tablets while i was tripping that it would intensify my trip..fact or fiction?
fiction you can tell because half the people tell you this and the other half tell you the opposite "if ur having a bad trip take a shitload of vitamin C and abort it" placebo is formidable vitamin c aids in cell regeneration only afaik
being healthy and having an ample amount of energy and nutrition will enhance your trips. because alot of people don't get enough vitamin c sometimes it can enhance your trips, because you are used to tripping at health level 3, and when you take the vitamin c you go up to health level 4.
i drank a lot of lemon juice while injesting shrooms , a friend took a sip, and the third person drank none. I tripped considerably harder and longer than both of them (lasted an extra hour and a half), and the friend that took a simgle sip presumably tripped slightly more then the shroom-only friend.
This myth is an offshoot of an actual fact, it's not oranges but grapefruit, and it's not more intense but it lasts longer ingesting a grapefruit helps slow down the metabolism process of the substance within you thus providing a longer time on the substances high. This does not only apply to acid but almost any drug. It's not the juice but rather the pulp that's the most important part.
Placebo is the strongest drug you can find. Grapefruit does inhibit enzymes that help with the breakdown of certain drugs, but I haven't heard of LSD being one of them. It certainly doesn't help with almost all drugs, as you mentioned, not even close. It's like the good rumor that everyone knows. Everyone knows that friend that has a friend whos friends dogs friends dads brothers cousins uncles sisters brother thinks he is a glass of orange juice and he will spill if he gets tipped over. I still hear that to THIS day, and people still try to convince me it's 100% true and they KNEW the person. Vitamin C is insanely good for you. Being healthy can raise your consciousness, and a healthy body can be more receptive to LSD and the reality that it shows you. Everything comes in through your body. So if it's working well, more gets in. It's basically the opposite of taking a pain killer to get rid of pain.
i once ended up in this place and one of the staff there said to me: the last person in here that took lsd thought everyone was cupcakes. what? you aren't a cupcake? i responded. lol but yeah what i meant was pretty much covered by prismatism.
"not even close" Your evidence fails to prove me wrong, and just because you haven't heard of anything regarding it does not leave it to be mythical. I agree entirely about the Myths of orange juice man but seriously guy don't say not even close when your not even close to being positively correct in your own research.
^I said not even close relating to the statement that you made claiming it has an effect on MOST drugs. That is false information. This does not only apply to acid but almost any drug. It's not the juice but rather the pulp that's the most important part. If you can find some solid information that grapefruit juice helps with almost any drug (like you stated) to prolong/enhance the effects, then I will kindly take back my words. Your explanation of how it works and synergizes with drugs was even incorrect. Saying that is applies almost any drug is not even close. To remind you, this is the information you posted: ingesting a grapefruit helps slow down the metabolism process of the substance within you thus providing a longer time on the substances high. This is not entirely false, but it's not all correct either. It does interfere with the metabolism process, but the list of drug that it has this effect on is "not even close" to almost all drugs. It doesn't necessarily mean a longer duration, mainly it increases the bioavailability.
LMAO. That JUST happened to me yesterday. I asked this kid to buy me acid and his friend overheard me. He was like "DUDE it's gonna be in your spine forever! And you'll be like that kid I know who thinks he's a cup of orange juice!!"
Excuse me for being very general in my initial post, in its context I didn't think it mattered much for the basis of drug abuse on this forum falls into a few select categories and I failed to make that clear. The effects of grapefruit pulp come to effect at least some popular drugs such as marijuana, LSD, and an array of painkillers. This information is from memory, sadly for my arguments sake I don't have the original articles relating to this subject. All Intellectual Ramifications.
yea this is not true.. C doesnt amplify your trip.. ive had it plenty of times trippin, and plenty of times without it.. no difference except it is good for you, and can give you energy ect.. i always have something with vitamins when im trippin.. makes you feel good which in turn, can give you a better trip.
Opiates yes, but LSD and Marijuana? Haven't been able to find anything that backs that up. I was just saying that you shouldn't state that it effects the duration of almost ALL drugs, when it really only effects prescribed medications. Anyways, most of what I could gather up just states that any effect that is has on LSD, Mushrooms, MDMA, etc, is mostly a placebo effect, and does not actually help in anyway with metabolizing those drugs, nor does it increase the strength or duration, like it can with opiates, benzo's, ssri's, etc. Actually, a lot of medications have warnings about drinking Grapefruit Juice while taking those medications, because of the increased bioavailability when combined. So it really isn't safe to tell people that GFJ will prolong the duration of most drugs, because that will obviously make people want to try it, and with certain drugs it could obviously cause some serious problems. Anyways, to get back on topic, which people seem to have steered away from, it does not amplify, or make your trip "harder," which is what the original poster is asking. Of course Vitamin C is good for you, and will give your body energy, and if your body is well rested and in good health, it can only make the trip that much more comfortable, but it certainly won't have an effect on the strength or duration of your trip.
Whenever I hear that one, I usualy respond with "Oh snap, you know that kid too? Wow!" A classic I heard once was when a friend and I purchased some 5-MeO-AMT when we were 16 from an older friend of the kids family. He told us "Be careful with this stuff, my friend took too much and thought he was a lemon meringue pie baking on a windowsill". That's about the furthest I've heard it go lol
At least with shrooms there might be some truth for this, some other person here tried the lemon juice experiment too, way I did it though was ground up some of my shrooms into a fine powder, put them in a shotglass, fill it with lemon juice and down it, and I tripped pretty hard that night. But anyways, most things with vitamin C in them are citrus or at least acidity in some way, if you're stomach is more acidity, for something like shrooms it'd break down the shrooms quicker. Acid though is a different story
