Calea zacatechichi (Dream Herb, Cheech, Bitter Grass) Does it smoke like cannabis?

I've read most of the smoking reports on erowid and some people say that it produces milder ganja like effects and most reported much more intense and even lucid dreams!

What is your experience. I'm thinking of trying some since it's pretty cheap and easy to get. Did you find smoking Calea anything like smoking pot? What are some of the similarities and difference? Is it better or worse than spice gold.....since spice gold seems often to be as expensive as pot and thus not worth it.

 

I keep hearing you're supposed to smoke a joint of it and then go to bed, and you'll have the most lucid and easy to remember dreams. Personally I prefer to feel effects while awake but it might be worth trying. Havent tried it myself so cant help you sorry

 

Well I made tea from an extract a year ago or so and it just gave me an interesting buzz, it's nowhere near marijuana in intensity though. It's quite subtle whereas marijuana throws you off your feet.

 

dude, smoking that shit is so bad, you dont even know. It leaves this horrible taste in your mouth, its really bad. But it is a cool oneiogen, it gives me these great vivid landscape dreams, with hella epic and realistic stories. I did notice a mild potlike high the first time I smoked it, but later when I expected it, it was dissappointing. Dont anticipate a legit high, just go for the dream effects, and be mildly surprised, I guess.

And dont use a bong, I think it might filter out active chemicals. I smoked it three times, the first two were joints, but then I wanted to use a bong for the taste. Didnt really work the last time. I kinda lot interest in it after that, now I have most of an ounce left.

 

man i always wanted to try this plant. where do you guys get it? i can only find it on the internets, but i hate buying things off the internets. is the taste really that bad? whats its texture? is it really powdery or like kinda chunky or what?

 

the extract is FEROCIOUSLY bitter, and like a mix of sand and clay. Just awful from a culinary perspective
