Pink Floyd moe. Phish (a picture of nectar makes me scream) Widespread Panic (Aint Life Grand or Free Somehow) Sonic Youth (Dirty) Jefferson Airplane Janis Joplin, of course... Umm...
Download Electric Feel by MGMT. I think everyone should hear that song. Grateful Dead(if you haven't already) Death Cab for Cutie (Narrow Stairs) anything Beatles... And the Beau Brunmels.

    Hope I helped. :]

    My favorite "Hippie" albums:

Sgt. Peppers' Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
Magical Mystery Tour - The Beatles
The 5,000 Spirits or the Layers of the Onion - The Incredible String Band
Wee Tam/The Big Huge - The Incredible String Band
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn - Pink Floyd
Are You Experienced? - The Jimi Hendrix Eperience
Axis, Bold As Love - The Jimi Hendrix Eperience
Electric Ladyland - The Jimi Hendrix Eperience
Odessy and Oracle - The Zombies
    Tomorrow - Tomorrow

And although they are next generation Psychedelia, special mention has to go to:

Chips From The Chocolate Fireball - The Dukes of Stratosphere
Black Foliage: Animation Music - The Olivia Tremor Control

    Peace and Love

I agree with Jimi and the Beatles; they're essential. Also check Bob Dylan, Steppenwolf, Deep Purple to name a few. Oh, and Country Joe and the Fish.

THE DOORS...best band their could ever...in my opinion!! i think you would really like them with songs like "light my fire, the end, soul kitchen, love me two times" considered rock, but i would put them in a genre of their own

Hmm... Cream, Frank Zappa, and if you want something crazy listen to Arthur Brown's 'Fire'. There's so much great music out there, so much more.
    Love Peace,
    Katie
