Hey! Anyone saw Johnny Winter this Saturday in Asbury Park? Wonder Bar, January 3th. It was grate!!! Share your good pictures from there with me please:cheers2:
YEA MAN... I was there and was blown away! I didn't realize what an amazing guitarist he is. He rivals the greats like Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray and Jimi Hendricks. His rendition of "Red House" was awesome. Certainly glad I made that concert. I walked out of there and couldn't hear for like 2 hours ... man was it loud. The only picture I have is from a cell phone and not very good at that. (got some guys bald head blocking Johnny Winter a bit)
Johnny Winter is one bad-assed blues guitarplayin' mo' fo'.... Blows Clapton out of the water, puts Stevie Ray to shame, nearly on par with Jimi. I'm glad to hear he's still kickin' ass ( he's gettin' pretty old you know...) I saw him in Seattle about 17 yrs ago at a club called "The Montana club" of all things. Some fuckhead threw a drink on his guitar about an hour into the show, so Johnny got pissed and cut the show short. Ever seen a bluesman really fuckin' pissed? It ain't pretty. Here's the Quote; " Whoever the FUCK was, that threw their FUCKING drink on my FUCKING GUITAR... FUCK YOU!" Show over. ZW eace:
Oh Yea!! Johnny is awesom without any doubt!!! He's a true blues-rock legacy coming to our times. I'm proud I heard him I was deaf for a while too. I was standing by the stage at a distance of 1 meter from Johnny staring at his tatoos and watching him playing in detail. Not a good decision to listen to the sound but I wanted to feel energy. By the way drums and bass were excellent! I made good pictures on my cell phone (as far as it could be good) but my phone was stolen on my way home-not a happy end of that night! Zombiewolf, it's a pity story you told about was happened in "The Montana Club" 17 yrs ago. There are a lot of fuckheads walking around. They wouldn't dare to do it now. He's gettin' pretty old you right. From me I add : whoever the FUCK was, that threw their FUCKING drink on Johnny's FUCKING guitar....FUCK YOU!
I really dig Johnnys work with Muddy Waters and James Cotton in the '70s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFJuGGS_AWk (crappy audio) Johnnys voice is just so....YEAH!:cheers2:
Oh YEAH!!!! I missed that voice in "Wonder Bar" Here is another video...from Woodstock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f50BtRnpV8A&feature=related Demon!!!
Shit, I didn't know Johnny played Woodstock!?! Thanks, for that one 'fancy! Thats it, I'm spending the rest of the nite searching utube Johnny... ZW eace:
I was surprised too. As a matter of fact that Warner Bros. Wodstock movie has stuck in everyone's mamory but a lot of performances were cut. But I've found good news: "New DVD and Blu-ray versions of Woodstock: The Director's Cut are scheduled for release by Warner Home Video on July 28, 2009. The "Ultimate Collector’s Edition" reportedly includes an hour of performances not seen in the film, or not seen in full. Director Michael Wadleigh is overseeing the release, Warner said. Robert Klein's documentary The '60s and the Woodstock Generation will be among the extra features. "
