I know everyone has their own personal reasons I just figured I would ask :D

Never cut mine but my buddies have.

One needed a change. Shift in mindset and loosing the dreads symbolized that.

The other had crap in his locks. They were formed naturally but the first few months of formation were spent living in a humid bush and just gathered crap in them. (BC rainforest ftw). He started over again after the cut and now he's chopping half a year into it - this time 'cause he was really lazy(his words, not mine) about going natural and literally did nothing but wear a toque ALL the time. Now he's got a pile of dreadlets that have congoed oddly and pull the fuck outta his scalp around his temples and they're beyond ripping.

Got rid of them because I felt like I would be better received without them, and I was right.

People usually don't like it when the people who handle their food have dreads.

lol, poor things, there is even less chance of having your hair fall into their food.

just felt like a change. it was like i grew up a lot within a few months and decided what i wanted and who i was. id started dreads a few months before, but i felt like cutting them and the thought of short hair was so liberating and free that i had to chop. it was very impulsive, i didnt htink it over at all, just hacked them off. i dont regret it, even though i would have sick long dreads by now if i hadnt. it felt great at the time.
