High ruined my movie :o

So a while ago i went to see tropic thunder in theatres and as ussual me and my freind got baked beforehand thinking it would enhance the experience of what we thought was a funny movie... Turns out the movie isnt that good while stoned i actually wanted to leave halfway through and he felt the same but we stayed till the end anyway...

Alot of people like it and i dont critisize those who do, but there was just something about it where half the time i was just like WTF? and didnt really understand shit that was going on it just wasnt that great/funny of a movie... Im planning on rewatching it sober later maybe to see if its any better but i dunno it didnt really make me laugh at all....

 

i thought it was pretty funny.

it's definately not a great comedy or anything, but i got my laughs...

and i was sober..

i also wanted to stop like 3/4 of the way through..

 

Although I have not had the chance to see Tropic Thunder yet I would imagine it would not be bad stoned. The only movies I don't like to watch stoned tend to be ones with a complicated story line with lots of twists in the plot or ones with a lot of characters that you have to follow. However, I can sympathise. When I was younger I was really depressed one day and I thought going to a funny movie would cheer me up so I went to see "Down and Out in Beverly Hill", touted to be one of the funniest movies of it's day. Keep in mind that was the 80's. I also did not smoke at the time. Now, I don't know if you have seen this movie but I have friends who say it was funny. I personally hated it and I can't watch it to this day. Now, I don't remember why I was so depressed at the time and I could not tell you why I don't like the moive I am just ingrained that I don't like it. I kinda think this may be the same problem. You guys just were not wired into the movie or it was just that bad. Now, I walked out of "Down and Out in Beverly Hills" one of the few movies that I can say that I have done this, but it was just because I was in a bad mood.

 

marijuana ruined Pineapple Express for me. I got high enough that I could not remember one single scene from that movie. Not one. Not even one single line.

And that was during the movie too, like it was just an incoherent series of unrelated events.

Afterwards people were discussing scenes and funny lines and i could not remember one of them or the context they were from or ANYTHING. I didn't even remember the basic plot, i was really gone.

 

the 3rd or so time i smoked (before i was even able to tell if i was high, but in retrospect I was), i was watching waiting. all the abrupt scene transitions really fucked with me, i couldnt follow the plot for shit

 

I hated that movie.

 

Haha, stoners and their bad memories.... NOT, it isn't that at all.

We stoners are cool and tend to reject dumb shit without notice, you people don't remember these movies 'cause they sucked nutz. Nutz.

 

Tropic Thunder blew. no amount of weed can make that a good movie.

I recently watched No Country For Old Men baked. holy fuck was that awsome. I actually felt afraid, no, TERRIFIED whenever that Chigur guy was on the screen.

 

yeah i tried to watch that movie baked at home and i just ended up falling asleep.
the parts i remember were pretty funny.

 

Its because Ben Stiller and Jack Black are not funny.. the only good thing about that movie was Robert Downey Jr.'s character

 

i liked tropic thunder, especially jack black's jelly beans gag

 

My friend and I went to see that "double feature" Grindhouse, we got baked before hand, picked up snacks and popcorn at the concession and went in. The theater was empty, I think it was a Sunday Afternoon show. So, we waited and after about half an hour I looked at him and said "time to light up again". I pulled out my dugout and one hitter and proceeded to smoke up in the theater. Now, that was one of my best experience in a theater, the movie sucked but I thought it was funny at the same time. Just way baked. We had a great time. One of my best experiences of seeing a movie and getting baked.

And Captain, Pineapple Express was pretty damn good imo. Definitely not as epic as some, but all in all quite an enjoyable stoner film.

 

robert downey jr's character was the only thing funny about that movie, but it was hilarious.

"you never go full on retard. look at sean penn. went full on retard in i am sam and walked away with nothin"

 

Cool, I have smoked weed and cigs in the theater, puked in it, too haha.
Been kicked out for drinking, as well. I love my cinema, what can I say?

 

i thought planet terroes (whichever one tarantino didnt direct) was pretty good. i never saw the other one

 

Planet Terror was a lil better.. but yea.. Death Ride or whatever it was fuckin BLEW!

 

I think Death Proof was good, Planet Terror was far better.

 

pineapple express was a hilarious movie. a little stupid, perhaps, but a great morale of friendship
