I prefer songs to have meaning and emotional content that can speak to me. lots of things sound nice, but are far too hollow but, at the same time, I do not like music that has nothing but emotional content and no inherent involvement of skill
well, it could be "epicurean" and probably is, but, I prefer to reference the music made by people with the epicurean mindset, to referencing purely epicurean music. there are some baroque pieces that are epicurean, but were not made with that intent, but I still quite enjoy them.
I am quite aware, I am not just talking hedonism, I am talking of the qualities of a musical piece, constructed entirely for sensual enjoyment, and not for intellectual deconstruction harry chapin, couldn't sing, his songs were arranged in a somewhat harsh manner. but his music is beautiful to me because of it's meaning, and emotional content.
I'm not familiar with his other work but I get a shiver every time when he gets to the "He'd grown up just like me." part in "Cats in the Cradle".

What about in a culinary epicurean way? "I feel like love is in the kitchen with a culinary eye, think he's making something special and I'm smart enough to try." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAEPl_MKAQQ Yeeeeeessss?
i like blues, rock and roll... music with substance. a good guitar riff. and i'm a writer, i'm picky about lyrics.
Supposedly, music that is unintellectual and appeals solely to the senses. Very poor choice of terms-
