i'm thinking about working at a summer camp, and i'd really like to bring a few ideas for sustainable a&c projects. i'd like for them to actually have a use beyond being just something to look at. anyone have any brilliant ideas? :)

Sounds fun! I have a few ideas...
    reusable shopping bags
    paper
    notebooks
play the fish game with them!
or you could do some sort of awesome project with them involving community development...for example you could raise money/awareness to get some recycling cans in your community (maybe in a park or something) and then the kids could paint the cans which is fun for them and also will help draw attention to the recycling.
I would definitly do some sort of a&c activity that will benefit your commmunity and the environment to show the kids that they can make a difference.

If I think of anything else Ill let you know!

Those are all really awesome ideas.

You can also recycle all your paper towel tubes, cereal boxes, and the likes and make musical instruments and other crafts with them.

Make a rainstick with papertowel tubes, a drum with an oatmeal box. Make head dresses with cardboard, feathers and glue. Have a pow-wow and you can talk about native americans and the importance of their culture and history. Save the cereal boxes, tear them down. Later, use them to make cardboard picture frames they can decorate. Or cut shapes out of them and lay them down on a table and let the kids color on the paper with peeled crayons to make cool art! Leaves work good with that one, too.

I can come up with more stuff, if you want.

    I LOVE the pow-wow idea!

How old are the children that you will be working with?
