Indoor cat.

I have an indoor cat. I have taken him out when he had his balls cut off, and when he gets bathed and his nails clipped. So he is not such a big fan of going out the front door.

 

You should look up how to potty train your kitty next... I am sure both CAN be done- but it would take a lot of failed attempts to get there.
I did have a leash for my cat , and used it a few times- she would walk were she wanted, then stop and lay down.. quite often I just ended up carrying her were ever she was going, but really I think she was just rotten and preferred to be carried .

How often do you have to bathe a cat? And clip its nails? And take it to the vet?

Cats learn to use the litter box really really fast.

Plus, they're the kinds of animals who'd shit in a specific spot anyhow, so it's easy to potty-train them, just put the litter box where the kitten is doing its thing, and then slowly move it to the bathroom as the cat gets used to it. Cats really like litter boxes, so it works out both ways.

Indoor cats are not a problem at all. They might scratch up the furniture or some shit, and de-clawing is an option, but not my favorite one. You can just soften the cat's nails with one of those things they sell on TV. I would let it be as primal as possible though... fuck the furniture... plus the cat having claws adds an edge to when you're playing with it.

A friend has a Hemingway cat, and that shit will claw the fuck out of you. That extra damn toe pwns... total genetic superiority.

Cats are usually very low maintenance. Keep them feed, watered, clean their litterbox when it stinks, and get them their vaccines.

 

Cats are very clean animals. You don't even really have to bathe them unless they get dirty, or get fleas or some shit.

You don't really have to take them to the vet unless they're sick either (after you get all the shots, but the cat will come with the shots unless you pick it up on the street).

You cut the balls off because they begin to piss everywhere and well...get horny. I would suggest doing it at as early an age as physically possible, because the cat can get really attached to having balls, and cutting them off after they reach sexual maturity really changes their character and makes them kinda depressed. You can also opt for not cutting their balls off, but I don't think that you'd really want to do that with an indoor cat. It will be clawing at the door in search for pussy all day.

Cats are some of the most awesome animals out there. I'm a big fan, and you really really really should get one. I'd have 50 if I could have them right now.

All in all though, I think that cats are much happier when they are indoor-outdoor cats, because they love the freedom and get to explore and stuff... but they are territorial animals, and they don't mind staying only indoors as long as they don't feel threatened or anything. People often make the mistake of introducing a new cat into a house that already has an adult cat living in it for a while, and that creates lots of friction.

That does look somewhat awesome, but I'm sure the cat would be slightly more comfortable with a litter box.

 

Well, yeah, that's why I'd like to at least try the leash thing.

I have 3 cats. 1 goes in and out (mostly out). The other 2 are strictly indoor cats. They are all happy, healthy, crazy cats. We love 'em.

 

Cats are extremely independent. Just leave a bunch of food out, and the cat will eat as much as the cat desires. A full bowl of dry food can be more than enough.

Cats don't drink that much water, and some won't even drink any at all if they eat wet food.

Also, cats shouldn't ever drink milk, the fact that they do is a misconception.

 

depends on the cat, we have an eight week old kitten here, and she's right now around 70% litterboxed.

I've known 11 year old cats who weren't litter trained, but that's the owners fault

Yeah, milk gives cats massive shits, and those kitty scratch pads are the bomb. Sooo funny, cats go after them like little crackheads. My oldest cat growing up was very protective of the one she had, she wouldn't let any of the other cats on it and when she'd torn it up just right, she'd flip that motherfucker over and roll in the catnip. Then proceed to twitch and act like a tweaker for an hour.
