We had a discussion about drugs and I told her all about the different drugs I've tried and my very occasional use of weed. She always tells me I'm getting sucked into the world of drugs and makes me feel like it's a bad thing. I think so much. I have no friends, basically all I do is play video games, work out, be on the computer, and think. She makes me feel like I am getting sucked into this world of false love and soulless lifestyle, but I have to confirm my feeling deep down with you guys that we aren't soulless and addicted. We're enlightened.

I believe we are walking one lap around the world. As we near the end of our lap we are disintegrating into the all and maybe bore ourselves again in a new world somewhere else which is why I believe I can just go with the flow, love whatever I want, and let my life whip me around.

    Traverse your travel.

Typical parent reaction. But find some people with similar interests, it's always good to have friends, even it they aren't "perfect" for you.

it's never a bad thing to at least listen. the important thing is to hear what she says, and to be honest with yourself about your response.

i'm not saying that you're wrong, i don't know anything about you. but i do know how easy it is to get caught up thinking you're enlightened, or that what you're doing means something. not to say it doesn't, but delusion is a lot more general than most people think. just ask yourself a few questions- are you happy with where you are? do you think you could be/should be doing more?

drugs aren't all that important. just make sure, if they're something you like to do, they're on your list of hobbies at most. don't make them your life.

It's her job to worry. Whenever I am on the receiving end of that sort of criticism, it only makes me even more motivated to do well to prove them wrong.

Always remember that a parent who is concerned for you is a parent who loves you, and that is one of the greatest blessings in life.
It's ok if she doesnt understand where your awareness is headed, most people never will. It's the most difficult path to take because while you are embracing everyone and everything, much of it seems to be pushing you away. But if your heart is in the right place, at all times, the peices will fall together and the effort will be rewarded. Your affirmations will come in due time, and usually out of nowhere and in the least expected situations.

I really strongly agree with this. Personally I see emotional connections with other people as more satisfying than feelings I know are born out of my own consciousness's reaction to a substance. Like what was said before, drugs are fun and a great hobby but people, that's your LIFE man.

i disagree with what some of yall said... friends should be PERFECT! anything less than that, then they aint friends... you shouldnt have friends just for the sake of it, shit should be real...

what she says may be valid, i dont know you personally but if drugs center you lifestyle then you ll probably realize sooner or later she is right to a certin degree. thats the story of my high school years anyway.

i agree with navajas as well. freinships need to be real, all our encounters with other human beings need to be real, with ourselves first and foremost

Well I stopped myself from studying drugs anymore. The main reason she said drugs were taking over me was because I spent most of my time reading about them on the internet. I think my knowledge is vast enough now that I can stop and so I'm not reading anything about them anymore and it's helped take my mind off them too. So I think I can keep them as a once in a while hobby.
