Pink Floyd's Ummagumma, particularly Astronomy Domine and Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict.
Quicksilver Messenger Service-Who Do You Love Suite...well, maybe or St. Stephen/The Eleven or (speaking of Ummagumma) Careful With That Axe, Eugene or King Crimson-21st Century Schizoid Man or almost ANYTHING by Capt. Beefheart! Shit....I can't decide! Why do you ask? Haha.... Zen
2000 light years from home--Stones------alot of old Floyd--and Quicksilver Messenger Service---Planet Caravan--Black Sabbath and more-----------------
But of course, mine would have to be The Soft Parade by The Doors. Trips me right out each time, and always provides lots of laughs when i'm dancing with Lucy. Know what I'm saying? "This is my favorite part of the trip.. The trip, the one I like.." Jim Morrison "Huh?--What?" His band shortly after. But as far as pure enjoyment, Dear Prudence by The Beatles. Easily the most beautiful song in my opinion, and never ceases to bring a smile to my heart, and remind me of chiller days, just smoking and thinking. *sigh* Summer of love, why can't you return?
I appreciate what you're saying - Dear Prudence, As My Guitar Gently Weeps and someone else mentioned 2000 light years from home. I don't know if all my memories are rose colored - but I really don't care. They still give me comfort - Ahhh yes, the Summer of Love, where have you gone.eace:
Susan Christie demo-ed an acid-trip song (Yesterday Where's My Mind) back in the late '60s that wasn't commercially released until 2006. It's not bad...
The movie "Across The Universe" has a lot of really well done remakes of Beatles toons, coupled with a lot of great imagery. I get a profound rush out of one particular pairing: "She's So Heavy" as the soundtrack for a scene of the Statue Of Liberty being slogged across the jungles of Viet Nam, on the shoulders of soldiers. Very heavy, indeed.
