I don't know. I think they make more money than a lot of productive industries. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say porn makes more money than the furniture sector.

what i DO know is that while not often discussed in "polite" conversation, pornography is ANYTHING but a "fringe" industry. far, far more pornographic features are released annually than mainstream features, and they enjoy far larger profits as well as a result.

the adult entertainment industry accounts for vast amounts of internet traffic, dvd and magazine sales, not to mention income for thousands and thousands of individuals attached to the industry in one capacity or another
