I got a prescription because I lost so much weight and then I ended up having my morning sickness pass....

good luck lady, it sucks! I use to eat loads of saltines and small sips of water and Sprite... I just recently got a pregnancy tea... and I heard that ginger works!

Wow... I am surprised. Have you been losing weight?

I heard that ginger candies work really well. Also.... KC gave me the idea of using ice bags on my head when I had migraines and honestly they worked for like everything! Especially nausea...

Yup, ginger... ginger tea, candied ginger, ginger beer... (not real beer - it's a soda) it's all SUPPOSED to help.

So is super-sour foods, for most mamas. I found lemon wedges would help me, and my SIL swore by lemon-flavored "Preggie Pops."

Good luck! I'm afraid the only thing I know that works for SURE is time. (((((((((hugs!!!)))))))))
    love,

Peppermint tea works also. Eat crackers before you get out of bed in the morning. Just a couple. Sips of water or sips of ginger or peppermint tea. DO everything slowly. Do not take the script from the doctor even if they offer it. They are not safe.

Usually it passes after the first three months. With my first one I was sick the whole nine months. With each one after him the time got shorter.

    Congrats on the baby.

I guess I was lucky cos I only had a few days of morning sickness. Although it was pretty terrible for those few days. Ginger ale and dry toast helped. My friend swore by Wave chocolate milk when she had morning sickness, but I guess that wouldn't work for everyone.

I heard those motion sickness wrist bands work wonders...wish I knew about those when I was pregnant, I had to just tough it out and wait ...I remember it being a very long long 3 months. Even had to quit my restaurant job, gagging while serving people food is not very pleasant...

Morning (which is really All Day, isn't it?) sickness sucks, especially when you can't even keep water down.

Morning sickness is often due to the crazy fluctuations in blood sugars that result from being hungry (low) eating a lot of simple carbs, the only foods that are remotely appetizing, (sudden high), puking them up again (low again) then eating some simple carbs (ginger ale, crackers, toast with jam) and making your sugars get suddenly high again. It's a viscious circle that makes you miserable. What you want to do is get your blood sugars stabilized.

What I ask my pregnant mamas to do is to eat ONLY what you can hold in the palm of your hand, not more, no matter how hungry you feel. A few almonds, 2 crackers with nut butter, a slice of cheese, a handful of raisins, a few slices of apple, doesn't matter what you eat, just what you can hold in your hand. Eat something every hour or so. Make sure you have something high protein before you go to sleep at night, and something high protein as soon as you wake up. A slice of toasted Ezekial bread or other sprouted grain bread with a little nut butter is nice, with a cup of peppermint or ginger tea. Sip water or gatorade slowly and frequently and try not to chug.

It takes about 3 days for your blood sugars to re-stabilize, so don't expect instant results, but you will feel better within those 3 days.

    good luck and feel better!

I am starting t feel ALOT better.
i honestly think my biggest problem is the blood thinners i have to be on, and its not helping me at all...every time they change my dosage it gets worse i swear!!

Thanks so much for your reply Brighid! I was put on medication for my first pregnancy (since then my beliefs and ways have evolved, A LOT!) We so often look outside of our body system for something we can use to mask the problem! I had been thinking that next time (soon, I hope!) I'd just take a hoot here and there if needed, but will definately try anything I can to settle my body down by working with it rather than treating the symptoms from the outside!

bcsher, i agree!! if i didnt have so many medical prons id have a midwife and a homebuirth. but im considered very high risk and am at very high risk for blood clots so i have to have a team of specialists looking after my little Noah. I really wish I could have gone the other route, but things happen for a reason. one thing i do get to do it take care of things like morning sickness the homeopathic way and LOVE taking suggestions from Brighid,...shes a lifesaver :)

I'm only 10 weeks, and have had only minimal sickness....a few dizzy spells and a handful of minor headaches....but the WORST WORST WORST part is not being able to "GO." Yup, I'm lucky if I can go once a week, it has to be one of the worst feelings ever.

I'm 10 weeks, and the morning sickness only ever hits me in the evening.
But eating crackers works like a charm!

and trying to take your mind off of it helps too :)

I called into work a couple times last week thinking I had a stomach virus... nope. I'm preggo and pretty miserable right now. I got sick like 4 times by noon today. One of my patients today actually called me out on it. She said she could tell by looking at me.
