Hi everyone, I've recently started meditating twice a day. I have made a little progress, at one point i found that while i could "hear" my thoughts without actively participating in them. The most intense experience i've ever had was a quiteting of the mind followed by a great light, which immediately vanished as soon as i noticed it, but after i finished i felt a tingling all over my body (a feeling i have only ever felt while on lucy).
I would like to note however, that all my meditation experience has been using binaural beats, sounds which manipulate your brainwaves. Does anyone else on here have any experience with binaural beats? I thought that by using the beats, I would be able to recognize the meditative state to give me a reference for meditation on my own, is that ok, or will they hold me back?

I don't know how familiar everyone here is with the pineal gland. But this gland is found at the geometric center of your brain, and releases DMT when you dream, die or have a near-death experience. The pineal gland is activated when you no longer receive light from your eyes.

THE INSIDE OF THE PINEAL GLAND HAS RODS AND CONES JUST LIKE YOUR EYE, WHICH MEANS IT CAN DETECT LIGHT WITHIN YOUR MIND!!! Have you ever heard of the third eye? maybe that was more literal than we actually realize.

Finally, here is a quote from jesus, which i believe refers to meditation

"THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN DARKNESS SAW A GREAT LIGHT," (Matthew 4:16)

I recently heard that in reptiles the pineal gland still retains a retina, cornea and lense. Though I've not looked into this myself so far. I've not heard of binaural beats, though we do have the heart beat, which I often feel will the pulse of blood through my body, which can be quite entrancing alongside the natural rhythm of the breath. If you go deeper you can contact the Anahata, and sometimes I will start to hear internal sounds looping themselves like short songs, similar to traditional medicine songs. The drum of course is a more archaic form of, at least what I know of, the binaural technology your talking about. It makes sense that our society would use such things! You might like to investigate the teacher Shinzen Young, it's not the same thing, however, he is building an AI meditation teacher utilizing secular/non-religious language.
