me and a friend went to see Jet concert last night (and i didnt like it much, not only did i have no water the whole time (and i was stoned) but the special guests were heaps better than Jet, and overall went for longer...) anyway, on our way home we were still a bit stoned, you know, cloudy head. my friend jsut stops and points at somehting 'fuck look at that! that rock is running away from us!' anyway i looked closer and saw it was a turtle! walking across the path toward the road, in a park where there were no ponds or anything like that (there is a golf course but thats a long walk for a turtle (he mustve been a turtle on a mission)) anyway it was jsut really random that we found a turtle, since wed jsut imagined that the rock was moving in our heads.... and it was funny to walk down this main road carrying a turtle, some people laughed and others literally run in fear we called him collin caus he looked (wella ctually he didnt but we liked to think so anyway) like a friend of ours i fed him some banana and gave him a bowl of water and put him in a basket next to a heater today, mother took him to the vet, who will pass him onto the animal rescue people btw he was an Eastern long-necked turtle, Chelodina longicollis for anyone whos strangely interested
where i live if you took a animal out of its natural habitat and gave it to the vet they would just kill it. why put it in captivity? arent some turtles native to australia?
theres heaps of native turtles in Australia- heaps of them are endangered tho. Jet are allrite. they sorta rip off the Beatles tho, they ave the same chord progressions in heaps of their songs like in 'look wat uve done' has the same chords as 'Imagine' and then 'strawberry fields' i think
yeh they are a rippoff, almost everyhting of theirs is taken from somewhere else. anyway, the vet doesnt put it in a cage lol they take it too the wildlife people who look after it and let it into teh wild if it can. and yes some people run, lol not like all teh way home, a few metres or something lol. its a pretty fuckin wierd looking thing. and it aint exactly small
thats amusing i couldnt see being afraid of a turtle though. me and a buddie on the way to go fishing found this big lost turtle. he was a long way from the water almost half a mile and looked to be prety confused. now this isnt an ordinary turtle something i hadnt seen before and havnt seen since(havnt bother to try to find out what he was) big and a brown/green color with some realy jaged looking hooks on the sides of his shell and some godzilla claws on his feed id say he probably weighed like 15lbs. anyways we kindly helped him out by taking him back to the river and feeding him a fish we normaly woudnt have kept then he just walked back into the river and swam off.
I could see someone running away from a snapping turtle. If anyone's ever encountered one of those they're crazy.
out of curiosity how big/small do people visualise the turtle when they read that story? caus most people ive asked think of it as a turtle that would sorta fit in your open hand, but collin's shell was a foot long
I was thinking of something about a foot long. Y'all got some fucked up animals in Australia, so I figured the turtle would be bigger.
