So, i started my dreads over winter break about a week ago, using backcombing/waxing. But after reading a lot of posts here, I'm tossing away the wax and letting the rest of my un-backcombed hair do its thing. I was surprised at how cool a lot of people at my school were about it. once i explained that i actually DO wash and plan on washing my hair, they opened up to the whole idea a lot more. :] Thanks for providing all this info here and helping me realize how much of a scam all this wax stuff is.
Lol, yeah, it reminded me of the brootal scene kids on Myspace. But the new hair is gonna rock, are you still going to cover your eyes with it? Cos it looks like you have blue eyes, let the world see 'em, man.
your hair is so silly, ha ha. well, i used to have crazy hair too so look who is calling the kettle black. you may need to do a wax cleanse, that stuff is hard to get out. it might still be in there even if you dont see or feel it. im looking forward to see how your hair turns out.
i was thinking crazy as a punky red mohawk. now the popular thing is this wave thing that covers half their face. but yeah, i definitely still dont have "normal" hair in the eye's of others.
I hate sweeping scene fringes, especially with those oversized beanies that sort of sit on their head! But who am I to judge, each to their own. DO a deep clense to get out the wax Good luck Alex
Heh, yeah i have blue eyes. I was just getting sick of my hair, its been the same for almost 6 years now and i just wanted to get away from it, and i think deadlocks are beautiful. I've read the post about the wax cleanse, and i might give it a try, i used it about two or three times
