Ok so I'm almost a month into my natural dread journey (one month on thursday) and right now I've got a huge clusterfuck of knottyness going on in the back of my hair, but its like underneath my hair. Like its not really visible but if i lift up the hair on the back of my head I can feel it.

Should I be attempting to separate this out into individual "dreads" or is it to early to worry about that?

I would try to separate it a little.

you need to let your fingers explore your head and get to know your scalp.

i can't diagnose the situation from here, ripping might not be necessary yet or it might be or you will end up with a pillow on the back of your head.

just remember locks start to form as sections of hair first, not balls or pillows of hair.

If it's one huge moosh of hair than yeah I'd seperate it, you do have to guide your hair even if you are going natural. and as for natural philosophy, of course he cares. People with dreads totally care for their hair, if not then thay wouldn't have any! you sound like an idiot in most of your posts, shut up.

If you don't want one giant congo then you should be separating on a regular basis. At least after every time you wash them. It's definitely not too early.

Luxie is right, you just seem to come across like you don't care about your hair or other's dreads, if your journey is so natural & specific to your taste's, why share it with anyone else, don't be a twat :)
I'm all up for giving advice, but when someone asks a question when in need, and you give them some open-ended 'No-one-else-can-have-natural-dreads-everyone-else's-methods-are-wrong' answer it does get a bit tedious.
    :)

I think he just has a pole stuck up his ass. People come onto this forum seeking advise on how to keep dreads. His advise has been shit. I haven't seen him say anything nice or helpful since I've been on here. Dreading your hair can be a tough journey. Alot of people slate you for it and they take a lot of patience. I'm here to learn and tell what I know, don't know why he's here...

natural philosophy says the truth a lot and lot's of people don't like that. Some people ask stupid questions that they already know the answer to (Not here, but it happens) and everybody get's all PC while natural philosophy says it like it is. He basically writes a lot of stuff that I only think in my head.
Now, stalk on the otherhand is a grade A asshole but he write stuff to be funny(And I laugh).

People, people!!! Relax!!! All that's needed is larger signature files. This forum won;t be complete unless it's one post per page due to enormous sig files.
