I'm on this new B/C pill where I skip the last week of pills for 3 months so I only have 4 periods a year. I think it's great not having a period. After the first three months, I started feeling pains and then my period came a week early and only lasted 2 days. My doctor told me there's really no wrong answer, that I could take it normally and just have a period every month, or I can stick with it aned my body might get adjusted. He said he doesn't like to reccomend skipping your periods because it's unnatural. But being on birth control is unnatural by itself. What do you think?

While you are on hormonal birth control you do not ovulate and your endometrium does not grow the way it does with the normal fluxation and dance of hormones. Therefore you do not shed your endometrium the way you do if you had ovulated. What happens is you have withdrawel bleeding from stopping the pills during your placebo week. Therefore you actually have NO periods while on birth control, just break through bleeding.

So your doctor is wrong about that because the periods you have on birth control aren't periods to begin with.

Your talking about Seasonique, yes? I've been on it since the beginning of Sept.
It will adjust, I got my period early for a short time before I was suppose to get a period. By the second time it'll start being predicable.

I'm on depo-provera and never have "periods" (even if they were real periods on hormonal bc).

i have the same kind, it works wonders. my doctor told me it's more preventative then having your period every month because the hormone keeps getting built up and your body gets played thinking it's already pregnant. sometimes i get light periods, sometimes i get normal. all and all i'm happy i only have to go through it 4 times instead of 12. if your cramps do get bad though ask your doctor if they can prescribe cramp pills, i have some because i have a stomach ulser but they work well for when i get my period.
