Yeah, I really love side tables and magazine racks. It keeps everything *so* tidy. Did christmas go okay with momsie?

 

It went okay. It was pretty stessful. SHe became addicted to my coca tea and drank 25 tea bags in her 3 day visit. She ended up leaving early, blaming it on teh dogs at first and then telling me it's because she felt she 'out stayed her welcome'. Andy doesn't like sharing me so he said some hurtful things in front of my mom about me (calling my fondue a 6.5, saying I had no friends here and that one of his friends said I was weird). He said he was just kidding, but it was pretty obvious he was feeling threatened.
Ah well, what can you do? Andy and my mom are WAY TOO MUCH alike so they both really need to make an effort to leave their egos at the door when around each other.

 

Aww. especially if they hurt you because of egos.

 

Daniel just doesn't have much to do with my parents and while they like to bitch about it sometimes, it's really just more peaceful and less awkward. My parents are weird and antisocial and really don't just st down and have conversations with any of my friends, him included, and it drives him crazy because he feels they aren't making any effort, but that's just how they are. If you want much conversation from them, you have to either be stuck in a car with them or just talk until they finally respond, lol. But yeah...I go to all his family stuff with him, but go to my own alone. And I really prefer it that way. Though I can't imagine it's that easy when you don't live in the same town/area as your family.

My mom makes a lot of effort to talk with and let Andy know she loves him, but she is really educated and sometimes her jokes seem condecending-just like Andy's do. I think Andy thought she was cuttign him down.
Andy thinks therapists are fucked up and become therapists to make themselves feel better and my mom is doing her therapy internship for her master's right now. I think his comments put her off a little.
Like I said before, they both need to check their egos at the door because next time either one of them cuts me down in front of the other I am going to go eat at the Black Bear Diner untilt heir done exercising their innapropriate comments.

Nope. They have issues with the fact that he doesn't have a job, but we have just a little bit to go and we'll have the car back and he has a job waiting on him as soon as he has a way to get there. Not to mention, I chose this for myself, he's not forcing me to help him out or buy him cigarettes, I do it because I know this isn't permanent and I love him.

 

I cant wait until my mom meets John. Im sure they'll get along, John speaks like 20? words in Spanish and my mom speaks like 10? phrases in English.

That's exactly how it is with Tim and my parents as well. Well, my mum speaks English ok but my dad doesn't speak a word of it. But he and Tim still got along so well, Tim brought him a bottle of whiskey and a bottle of rum and so they had a few drinks together and smoked cigars and after that they were like best friends. It was so funny.

All my family lives in DR. Except for my sister who lives in North Carolina, but she doesnt talk to anybody.

The funny thing about my mom not speaking English is that she lived in New York for like 15 years or something like that, when she was married to my dad. I always make fun of her because of that, she can understand it alright, but speaks it horribly.

My dad speaks English as well as I do. I kinda wished that it was my mom who spoke English and not my dad. I dont think there's any way that John and my dad will ever connect. He doesnt drink or does anything, but work and live a life full of luxuries. But I dont care if they dont connect, I dont connect with him and Im kinda convinced that he doesnt connect with anybody. I used to tell my mom that he treats everybody as if it was a bussiness relation.
