This is a free speech forum, I have just a right to post here as you do. My post pertained to the subject of the thread, and honestly my view is that McDonalds is a complete waste of something to boycott. Boycott something useful, or rally for a better cause (like stopping this war, or fixing the economy). You could boycott your gas powered car and help the environment, but you need that right? Couldn't ride a bike to work hmm?
Uh, what the steaming fuck? I dont even have a driving licence and have never driven in my life. Never will either. I walk to work. Its down the road. Why say stupid shit like that? And free speech this forum is indeed...what I was saying was its slightly idiotic using your power of free speech to tell a load of people in the boycott forum they shouldnt be boycotting things I also think youll find Macdonalds so a hell of a lot of damage and questionable things if you take the time to do a tad of research, and if its the environment you care about, youre in for a treat
So, you seriously expect the poster you quoted to know that you don't intend to drive, know where your work place is, and that you have no license? WOW!
No, I expect them not to make assumptions one way or the other! That, I believe youll find, was my point My my, people are slow here, huh
sorry if my post made you angry, I wasn't really inteding to do so. However, if what you say is true and you don't intend to drive based on evironmental issues than more power to you. Even so, I still feel that there's more serious matters than a Fast Food "restaraunt", and if you're going to go after one you may as well go after them all. Again, not saying you don't, but if you're going to boycott something boycott anything related to it; don't single something out, that's what makes a person a hypocrite. There's a lot of hypocrites and liars nowadays, and it is a hard thing to see yourself doing. I can't claim that I'm completely innocent of being one now and then, but I'd be damned if I didn't at the very least try to stick to what I say. I am always open to discussion though, and maybe someone can change my mind about how I view a certain topic. Admitting your opinion could be wrong is a big step to discovering the truth about things.
Hmm.. high amounts of salt can preserve meat?? this is crazy talk.. I like the point she is trying to make but I have my doubts about that bun lasting twelve years outside of a freezer without having mold set in.. the meat on the other hand I can fully understand considering the high levels of salt and that cooked meat can retain it's color for a long time. Still not a reason to boycott the place, since that seems to be pretty normal for any fast food burger. I usually don't eat fast food myself, just because I prefer to cook my own food.. just a matter of taste.. not because I care that it's unhealthy..
As said before, no one is forcing you to eat it. And just because you don't doesn't mean you should try to ruin it for others who enjoy said food.
I think that after you work in fast food, the urge to eat it goes out the window. no more bk for topher, no more bk.
McDonalds are wrong on so many levels.. If you care about animal rights, human rights, environmental issues, social issues, you're own bloody health... do NOT eat at McDonalds, or any of the others! Yes there are bigger issues in the world but corporations like this are linked to them all.. and going some better for some food is hardly a massive drain of energy. Its a tiny thing for you to do that if everyone did we could really make a difference. Whats wrong with McDonalds?
People have the right to eat whatever they want. Animals eat other animals, but when humans eat animals it's wrong? :toetap05: McDonalds has nothing to do with environmental or social issues. Let people eat what they want, you can't control what people want to do.
All corporations have a level of environmental and social responsibility. People can eat whet they want.. but I have the right to give them information so that they can make a more highly-informed choice.
I'm pretty sure they know all about what they're eating. You can't control what people eat, get over it.
I'm a vegetarian, so there is little in Macdonalds that I can eat anyway. I go to Burger King for the Veggieburgers and Taco Hell for the ANYTHING which can be ordered sans dead animal. Oh, nomnomnom. . .
Their cutting down the rain forrest to have pastures to raise their cows so they can slaughter them like they have no feelings, but they do! All things have feelings.
Shut the fuck up, that shit is simply untrue. You act like all cows are mindlessly slaughtered, and they're not.
I shall boycott McDonald's for my the sake of my health. I had an oreo McFlurry the other night and my stomach still doesn't feel right.
