i came up with this idea about a year ago. ish. i just haven't gotten around to getting the actual tattoo yet. but i swear to you i will, it's the most badass thing i have ever thought of.
first of all, i am in love with salvador dali, he is my favorite artist ever. and my favorite painting by him is called oeufs sur le plat sans le plat, which means fried eggs on a plate without the plate. here is a picture in case you haven't seen it:

i think it's the most wonderful painting ever. well what i want is to have the egg on the side of my left ankle, with the string going up my leg, up my side, and stopping about mid ribcage and ending in a small simple bow. or wrapping around my torso. or stopping at the top of my leg (on the side). i haven't quite decided yet where i want it to end. i know that ribcage tattoos hurt the most, so that has a bit of an influence. i even thought about ending it right above my knee on the side of my leg. but god i love this tattoo and i want to get it sooooo bad. but i'm probably going to wait until i move out of my parents house in the next year or so. maybe by then i'll decide exactly how i want it, too.

Ribcage isn't as bad as people play it up to be. I have my entire right side done and I thought it was ok.

I'd be really really careful about getting an iconic artist's work done on you by someone other than the artist.

That's a brave idea. be prepared for people not to understand it but since you explained what it's all about I like it.

what exactly do you mean? like...careful for legal/copyright reasons? or just careful/don't get my hopes up/it's not going to be as good as the original/careful? i don't know much about tattoos and getting them and all that. i plan on doing a ton of research prior to choosing my tattoo parlor/artist and all that. i'm not leaving this up to just anyone, they have to be badass at tattooing and art and everything.

The bolded one. You just have to make sure you get someone who's studied the original artist and is comfortable doing their work. Everyone knows what it's supposed to look like so you don't want someone who's going to fuck it up.
