Ooooh and moonjava....that bob dylan picture on ur sig.....he looks so CUTE there! more than cute! hehe
i love it when robin williams is trying to get nathan lane to "act" like a guy and he gives him a high 5 and he screams. haha and when nathan lane is like "so, how bout those dolphins?!"
the movie is a remake from a french movie... like all covers of european movies, its a big insult to us... i'll elaborate : the american steal ideas and make horrible movies with them... next thing i kno, they'll make a remake of Roberto Benigni's La vita è bella (Life is beautiful) only it'll take place in Hollywood
Au contraire, Crayola, this movie is a tribute that pays homage to the original. It allowed those of us who do not speak French to enjoy an otherwise inaccessible treat. If it is not true to the original, that is a shame, and I understand what you mean. Many great foreign films have been butchered by Hollywood.
alas, its never true to the original... but yea, i agree that its a homage in a way, only, its important pple kno where the original idea came from
How do you spell the original title, is it "La Cage Aux Folles"? for some reason i think i am misspelling it. I am pretty sure I am....
and i really wonder what The Wizard of Oz -the book- is like... might read it, out of curiosity yea wait a minute, i didnt even kno there was a book lol
It just has a few scenes that did not translate onto screen well, but is actually not that different. I read about an attempt to remake the British TV series Fawlty Towers, which was a total failure, and hilarious to read about. At one point they wrote Basil out of the cast. If you don't know the series, that won't mean much, but Basil is the central character.
i love Fawlty Towers <3 and yea, i guess not only would that be a terrible idea to take Basil out of the cast, but the whole idea would be disastrous in the sense that the series is funny BECAUSE of its context (the 1970s, the UK...) and john cleese = impossible to replace
*sigh* i know.....its so terrible that he's almost 49 years older than me.... oh well i love him anyhow...
