okay, its not christmas yet, but it's nearly christmas eve.

i dont know why, but i'm pretty depressed, and i know a lot of others are, too.

it will pass a day or two after christmas, barring a miracle which may hasten it.

i don't know why so many people get down during the holidays, but its common. almost a traditional funk.

so if you're feeling bad, try and cheer up. but if you can't, this thread is to allow you to express it if you really feel down, whether you can place your finger on it or not

personally, i'm pretty ready for my dorm to open back up. but i'm here at least a week into january.

i'd rather shut myself up in my room and not be bothered, maybe drink myself into a stupor privately.

It's just another day. Plus I have a few vacation days ahead this week, so that's always nice.

I think it's this time of year and the lack of sunlight more than anything. But the holidays don't have much meaning to me anymore. Sure, I spend some time with my parents and enjoy some good food drinks, but that's it really.

I wish it wasn't Christmas because I have a lot of things to do that I can't do on Christmas...for instance-moving, cancelling cable at the apartment, going to the bank...I didn't even go Christmas shopping...and it's just been an aggavating past few weeks

i'd have to say i think thats got a lot to do with it, along with the knowledge of the frigid weather to come (despite the days increasing in length after the solstice, it gets colder for a while before getting warm again)

it is just another day. so i dont know why i get down this time of year. but i do, and so do many others. there are a number of ideas i could suggest, but they wont alter the fact that many folks feel glum.

I used to get really down in the late fall/early winter, until I started taking vitamin D supplements. That's really why the lack of sunlight gets people down. It's because they're not getting enough vitamin D from the sun, and it just so happens that one of the symptoms of vitamin D deficiency is depression. If you take about 2,000 IU per day in the fall and winter months, it can really help with seasonal affective disorder.

    Just my 2 cents.

Usually there are quite some arguments in my family during the winter holidays.
Which leads to problems and sad days...
