I didn't check to see if anyone has asked this question on here already, but I wanted to know if you think it is possible to have true inner peace?

I think if I had a wish, apart from a cure for my daughter's diabetes, I would wish for inner peace. I am happy, sad, and everything in between, but never truly peaceful. Does anyone here feel inner peace on a daily basis?

i think its probably more of an all encompassing peace than an inner peace. i think it is possible to know peace.

  4. I do, and they call it 'enlightenment'. You can call it God too, either way, it brings me inner peace everyday. No matter what the issue, I fall back on it to guide me through, and it works..

Peace, and I wish your daughter good health!

Diabetes? My relative has diabetes and she does pranayam/yoga every morning and then has a cup of korela (blended and mixed with water so its drinkable). While she did this she didn't need to take insulin.

Course, depending on the age of your daughter it'll be harder or easier to get her to do it. And if I've already told you this then I'm sorry. I forget.

I think wishing for anything keeps us from having inner peace, while accepting take us closer to it.

i feel inner peace most days, and Autentique is right, acceptance is key. Don't try to fight the flow, accept what is and go with it. Trust it.

I think u *can* have inner peace. But it might be delusional ;)

People who have that sort of thing , tend to be "detached from outcomes".Like UA's signature used to mention.
Also sort of taking time to be aware of things, the little things too , and savouring them , if that makes sense?

As for diabetes , I read that chinese medicine is good for it , before a cure is sorted.

speaking of diabetes, i think when it all boils down, my diabetes is what's keeping me from feeling at peace. having to do things I don't want to do in order to have the ridiculous amount of money it takes to buy insulin and everything else.
that being said, i don't think having to overcome obstacles means you can't be at peace.

Dunno.I know it must be bad .
But professional athletes etc have diabetes.
Inner peace is more about just doing and enjoying , rather than obsessing for things to be perfect... I think.

I might seem to have outer peace compared to some people. But I definitely aint got inner peace...

Sometimes turning on certain music or eating certain foods or doing a certain activity can immediately fling all your worries away and wash you in peace. It's not that far away :)

Thanks for all the answers. I think Autentique is also right, acceptance is the key. I just need to calm down and take things a bit slower too, instead of feeling obligated to do everything everyone expects of me. I am going to slow down and take my little family into consideration and if it means others miss out sometimes, it is ok.

I think a state of peace can be attained regarding your sense of self and the connection to the mind and body.
But as for the mind, anyone who desires to learn will never be at peace. If there was such a thing as total peace, the universe would have finished it's experiment by now.
Peace is totally acceptance, how the internal and external world make an impact on you should be tranformed by everybody, it's your right to see life as a miralce rather than a curse.
But since the state of the world is in turmoil, so must always be your mind when you wish to know as much as you can about its reasons and ways.
