first of all...myrtle beach is the biggest yuppy/tourist spot in south carolina. come down to charleston. we've got a great downtown and a beach where you cant go to without getting a whiff of green. especially during the summer. reggae fests and annual peace festivals. some good local concert hotspots too. the cops can get on you but if your smart your fine. your not that far away...you should come visit.

wow. myrtle beach is the most stupid place ever.
I lived there for the longest time just moved from there less than a year ago.
the people are back stabbing. I never trusted anyone even my closest friends.
Georgetown is nice if you can stand the smell from the paper mill.
Charleston is fun nice boutiques, better people, and allot of historic value downtown.
If you really want to meet some hippies go to Mt.Pleasent or Summerville.

I'm here right now till Sat.. Actually staying in some town 9 miles away.. I've also been coming here every summer since I was little. We normally stay right downtown but are in for a change of scenery.. I like this much better. It's on the beach still but not as loud as in downtown.. not as many kids.. but still have the bars, etc. :)

This place sure does change a lot over the years.. it's wild to watch things come and go! The pavilion is the one major thing I grew up with. Our condo we normally stay at is a few blocks from where that was.. Was down there last night and saw they are building a new boardwalk?

i grew up at Myrtle beach in the early 70s we had headsops all along the boulevard now you can only pass down that street once every 12 hours wtf is going on here. this beach has told the annual bikers to go elswhere which they have done the beach is now owned and runned by a bunch of people from bushs camp I havent been back there in like 5 years. I will be taking my family to one of the islands that are around Charelston,it a lot better place
