I'm Soooo Pissed At My Wife's Cat!

Ok I can't stand my wifes cat anymore. I love him but he is stressing me out and she never cleans up after him. I clean his litter everyday and he still shits and pisses on the floor right next to the fucking litter box. And today I woke up to a loud bang. We have a big plastic Iams container we keep his food in and it was on top of the fridge and he knocked it off onto the floor so ALL of his cat food was all over the kitchen floor. Damnit man I can't take it. And he always bites peoples ankles and meows all day to the point where my friends are like, "dude just let him go outside and maybe he will go away and just tell Lisette(my wife) that he ran away, but I can't do that it's cruel and she has had this asshole cat for 5 years now.

 

the poor cat sounds unhappy. cats will pee/poop in other places if their litter box isn't clean enough, or if they don't like where it's placed. try moving it to a quieter, less trafficked area so he can have some privacy. and as for the food - why don't you put the food in a closet or somewhere he can't get at it? he was probably just hungry and decided to do something about it!

it's not the cat's fault that you can't take care of him.

 

poor cat. if you both cant be bothered to take car of the cat & show it some affection & love then why dont you take it to the cat shelter or try & rehome him.

as green hell said above, cats will pee & poop outside of the litter box if it isnt clean enough or if they dont have enough privacy. they also pee & poop outside the box sometimes if they have a medical problem like a bladder infection. it would be a good idea to take it to the vets.

are you feeding the cat regular? maybe he was hungry so tryed to feed himself. you should put the food in a cupboard where he cant get to it. my cat has a whole cupboard just for his stuff.

as for his biting & meowing. do you pay the cat any attention at all? it dosnt sound like you do. think about how you would feel if you were ignored all day & night, what would you do? i'm pritty sure you would do the same as what the cat is doing, making a noise to get people attention & if that didnt work i'm sure you would start to get physical just as the cat is doing.

stop getting pissed at the cat, its not the cats fault, its yours & your wifes fault he is acting out as he is. you got to do soemthing about it, start showing more affection or rehome him to someone who will.

 

Dude this cat is fucking treated like a king, he gets plenty of food, water, love and not to mention cat nip. His litter box gets cleaned 2 times a day and is in the laundry room which only I go in. I play with him and he nows that both of his parents love him. So don't say that I don't take care of my baby, he is just frustrating me that he gets whatever he wants and he is still doing these things, maybe he is bored or somthing.

 

try a differant cat litter, and it sounds like u should be pissed with ur wife not the cat, tell ur wife to start cleaning out the litter box ,take turns.

 

heres a thought - the cat nip might also be making him a little wild...
If you know how Obnoxious/Aggravating some people can get when they are high (I know a few of them) - the cat nip could be having the same effect on kitty.
Also, if he is a male and isn't neutered he could be smelling a female in heat - and they will go insane or drive you there (or close to it) if he can't get to her.

what you need is patience. Your cat is missing something.. understandably routine may be outta wack litter food treats maybe different or taste different?? Food maybe bad?? i know they usually don't eat things when it is bad. However it does happen?? Too much cat nip will make them like a ADHD KID!! ''I'' usually play with my cat and sing to my bird morning noon before dinner after dinner and before bedtime but thats just me. Everyones schedule is different. Next semester is going to be so much busier. Did you have another pet? lose a job? Hours get changed??? Baby in the picture? Someone move in ?? Any lil thing can trigger a animal to change. Try comforting the cat and try talking to your wife about helping out a lil more often. i know my husband has a really bad stomach so i do the cat litter all the time i don't know what i would do if i ever became pregnant. LOL!!! Probably would have to get rid of my baby girl!! (Cat) Good luck dude!!

 

I had to learn the hard way about my lil man,I thought I would out smart him,and I bought him some of that cheap cat litter.Ha he told me he pissed right in the middle of my daughters bed,(that was 3 years ago).
I have only used the scoopable kind since,no problems.
Your cat mite not like the litter you are using,if he is potting near his box.

But joking aside (I was joking in the first place in case you couldn't tell), cats start behaving after they get snipped. Now some people think this is cruelty blah blah blah but that's a whole other issue. It can't be that horrible if even PETA supports pets being spayed/neutered.

i have had cats do all that shit to me to. here are soluitions that worked for me.
1. buy a litter box that has a cover to it that, the cat can walk into. that will stop the peeing and pooping on the floor and, give kittie privicy even in a high traffic area.
2. use only high quality cat litter. my cats like the arm and hammar cat litter which is unscented and clumps. not the cheapest litter out there yet, it keeps us all happy!
3. if you live in the u.s.a. (like i do.) buy only cat food that is labled "balanced and complete." that is the only type of cat food that can be garinteed by law to meet all of a cats nutritional needs.
4. never ever, put anything on top of, around or, under a refegeratior! that will cut down on air flow to the motor and, make the refergeratior work harder, be more likely to break down and, need to be replaced sooner; also, vacume under the refegeratior about every three (3) months or, when something is spilled under there. it will keep the motor from burning out.
5. put the cat food in a contioner with a locking lid to it. store in a cool dry place.
6. get another cat. cats are happier if they have a friend and, that will solve alot of behaviour problems too.
