Could anybody tell me if this is possible? What if they started a cigarette company that rolled cigarettes with THC free cannabis (hemp) instead of tobacco? The hemp could be enriched with nicotine. It would give you the taste of weed and the mental satisfaction of smoking tobacco. Also, there is no recorded relation of cannabis to cancer. The only thing marijuana smoke is related to is bronchitis, which is cured by no longer smoking. So.. wouldn't it be safer? Stoners would smoke this cigarette, ofcourse. Then it would have cult appeal. Would the law allow you to do this? Do any of you even think it would work?
That would be awesome, except I don't think they should add the nicotine. It's a horrible, addictive drug.
Sounds like a novel idea, but the law wouldn't allow it. Not even male hemp plants are legal. Any form of cannabis, THC or no THC is illegal. I would try and make a few of these on your own though, see how the taste and work.
Like Foppful said, any part of any Cannabis plant is illegal. Farmers can't even grow industrial grade hemp that has almost no THC. even though it has so many uses. Work for law reform, and maybe we can do this; but without the nicotine, because fuck that shit. We'll have real marijuana cigarettes on the market then, good, non-addictive, blow-your-mind marijuana. At least, one can dream...
Nicotine may be horribly addictive. However, it does give it's users a cognitive sensation and many people enjoy smoking it into their bodies. I do. But everytime I smoke somewhere in my mind it does bother me that the tobacco in these cigarettes is coated by so many chemicals that will eventually lead to my death. Ofcourse this could be solved by my idea... But yeah.. I did do my research and I realized it would be illegal, unfortunatly. I'd like to make a movement to propose the idea to congress, as part of a plan to produce a safer form of cigarette. They would have no reason to deny it. If they did, it would just prove once and for all they are corporate whores who do not care for the well being of their people, and it would further question the whole reason marijuana / hemp is illegal to begin with while tobacco products arn't.
Or then again... What if the hemp was simply imported for the cigarettes and not grown? It's illegal to grow hemp, not to possess it.
What would be the point of this? If i wanted to smoke weed with no thc i could just buy some schwag. Seriously.

The point is that tobacco which is grown by the big cigarette conglomerates is proven to have side effects which lead to emphysema and death. Cannabis is a plant which has less chemicals in it than tobacco, yet has a simular and to some people an even better taste. 400 chemicals vs. 4000 in tobacco. Cannabis, unlike possible other substitutes for the tobacco plant matter, has been smoked in our culture for a pretty long time and it's health effects have been well documented. The worst thing it can lead to is bronchitis. You are missing my point entirely if you think I'm proposing people stop smoking marijuana with THC in it and start smoking Marijuana with nicotine in it. Cannabis with THC in it is illegal to posses or smoke, and so it can't be legally sold. If it could be.. yeah I'd be all for that. The point is to allow people to smoke a (semi)legal form of a plant which has less documented negative effects, but still get the same benefit they do from smoking normal tobacco. If it could happen.. everyone wins. The smokers get their nic fix, less people die, and cannabis gets a good name.
i know what you mean, but you said "stoners would smoke it too of course" refering to all marijuana users regardless. thats all i was disagreeing with.
I think the healthy benefits as in terms of preventing cancer are mainly due to thc. As for nicotine, i think thats the most damaging part of a cig. In theory i think your idea wouldn't pull off right at all.
