Im moving into my own apartment! For the first time I have my own home, that I chose and am decorating and paying for. I want to have a really special house warming ceremony. I could use ideas on what to do. Bear in mind, Im more of the fresh air, vegan, classical music, meditation kind than the sex, drugs and rock'n'roll kind.
alrighty.... make a special meal... have people bring certain foods that go along with what you're gonna be making. decorate the house with some things that feel very zen and mysterious.... maybe have certain types of music playing that coraspond (sp.) with certain types of food.... set up a rock circle....a circle made of stones for meditation and burn some incense if you want. maybe eat the meal at an odd place.....
Take pictures! (I regret not having more lucid memories of my first place / party.) Splurge on a bunch of candles. Provide a private space for your smoking friends. Don't get too messed up. Let your immediate neighbors know you're having a party and tell them to call you if it gets too loud (rather than calling the cops). Invite the cool ones. Have fun and congrats, I hope you have a blast!
Cool suggestions, all.. I like the stone circle idea, I think Ill make one in my bedroom permanently for meditation with rudraksha beads. No smoking in my aprtment building though, which is fine by me, I really hate tobacco smoke. As for the decorating, thats how I want it to be anyway, I have lots of indian drapes and tibetan wall hangings and stuff gathered form my travels. Hey illusion...that pic in your signature... is that you with an inhumanly oversized dildo glued to your forehead?
Yeah, a big ass dildo on the forehead makes a fine and sophisticated decoration... Ive been all over India, every nook and cranny of it, except for the north eastern states. Ive spent a lot of time in the himalayas, mostly in various monasteries and small villages/towns that are out of the way. Ive spent much time in Dharamsala where the Tibetan government operates in exile (yup, home of the Dalai Lama). And having been there, done that, Im now in a small town in the middle of Ohio, complaining to my landlord that the hall light switch is broken.
