I just realized how hard it is for me to find work. With my dreadlocks and the economy the way it is, how am I supposed to find a damn job? Are there any places that will hire me in the Tampa, FL area? I need to support myself somehow other than wire-wrapping and... you know... This is frustrating.
Check out Warehouses, theyre always hiring.. They could probably get you like filing freight shipments (shooting a laser gun at a bar code all day) I just started doing that a couple of days ago, 10.50/hr I had to pass a UA though, but I just bought a flush. Didnt have to cut my hair or anything
scope out places with tattooed and peirced people working there. look for in- or outbound call centers home health care? willing to wash dishes? start your own job nursing care (just be able to cover those dreads)
I wish I knew! I have an associate's degree (next year I'll have a bachelor's) and six years of experience doing human resources. Wanna guess what I'm doing? Waiting tables. I've put in applications everywhere from the VA to my college to Walmart. No dice. I can just imagine what it would be like if I had visible piercings or tats or something. On the outside, I look like a complete and total square except for my pentacle necklace.
Hippies dont get jobs. Except dealing drugs. Hippies are lazy scummy fucks. Actually I have dreads and Im up in jersey and its a bitch finding a job right now. I had one and was working for a couple hours till the boss came and saw my hair.
I'm not getting a job. I just don't feel like getting into any sort of addiction to an evil called money. Just do a job for a sandwhich and be on your way, or sell dope and buy a blanket if need be, etc. Build yourself a cabin.
Trust in karma and make sure yours is very positive. Be exceptional as a person, friendly and excellent at whatever you do. Be indispensable. Good things will come to you.
Start a Dog Walking/Bathing biz, print out some flyers and post them in the neighborhood and in pet shops and vet clinics. Clean office buildings, no one is around while you are working and it doesn't matter about hair or uniform. 30 min Walk $40.00 weekly per dog Bath/groom $25/30.00, per dog, depending on size It is easy to walk and or bathe 4 or 5 dogs a day in two shifts. Washing windows can also bring in extra income. Roofing is fast cash. Mowing Lawns or delivering newspapers. Shoveling snow if your in a snow bound area. There are a lot of self made income producing ideas out there, you just need to find one that suits you. Good Luck finding your nitch sh
well man i have dreads and piercings and tattoos, so all i do is go to temp agencys where you can work under the table and get payed under the table, get like 50 to 70 dollars, well we have temp agencies here in canada im not sure bout the states...some1 else will know that, theres also big cash in pan handling, i made more in my life from panning than any job ive had...i dunno thats as much as i got to say, hope that helped ya cheers
I don't know what experience you have but you could cook. I'm a cook and waitress, and cooking they don't care what you look like for the most part, as long as you're clean. It's law in the food business to have long hair tide back though, so you're have to do that and/or wear a hat.
temp agencies are a good bet. 'addeco' and 'man power' are two around my neck of the woods. i serve got my hair tied all up in a neat little bun.
Those are all great ideas, shameless heifer, with one possible exception, mowing lawns. It can be a money maker but there can also be a lot of competition as well which can make it difficult to get into it and start making money. If there isn't much though then it can be worth trying it out. Also if, or maybe more correctly when, gas prices go back up it can really bite into your profits. I know several people who where doing really well running their own lawn care service full time until gas went way up. They had to quit their business as they just couldn't make much of a profit any more. Basicly look for a need and fill it. Sometimes even if there is a lot of competition the demand for a product or service can be high enough for you to still jump into it, or you might be able to do it better or add a special touch. If you want to work for someone else then really one of the best things to do is network. No matter how fair we may want things to be I have seen the saying many times proven true, "it is not what you know but who you know". This can be especially important if you look "different". If the person hiring you knows you or has someone they trust put in a good word for you then they will feel more comfortable actually hiring you. Also, other people you know might know of jobs that you would never find on your own, so ask around and put out the word that you are looking.
you could try getting a job at a park. maybe there is one around tampa that you could go to. or since you are a travelinmama you could hit the road and get a summer park job because they have to hire thousands of new people for the summer rush. they usually pay decent and they give you a place to stay in the park so you can chill there all you want. i think it would be so much fun and you would get to meet a lot of cool new people.
