Hmm... Do you all like heep albums, wich were recorded after Ken Hensley left? I don't realy like them...well they are ok, but not nearly as much as Heep albums when Ken Hensley was in the band. He was irreplaceble. He realy brought magic in to their work His departure was one major lost for Uriah Heep. My favorite singers were Byron and Lawton...and yours? Cheers!
I was at The Magician's Birthday Party Concert in London in 2001. Also on the After Show Party, so I got to talk with them, because my stepfather personally knows John Lawton. And Thijs Van Leer actually followed us to our hotel after the show. Gosh, now I am being a braggart! Sorry!!
Aww...you realy have something to brag about. Ah...I wish I could speak to them...I heard they are all good guys...are they? Have you talked to Ken Hensley... If you did, what is he like?
Yes, they are great guys.. Very child-friendly I haven't talked with Ken Hensley, since he wasn't on that show.. But my brother have, and he can report that Ken Hensley was very nice, and that he seemed to be a bit shy and calm...
i found this record "Look at yourself" in the record collection of my parents like two weeks ago. are they prog? really? i thought they were hard rock when i heared there music, anyway it is great music and it reminds me a lot of deep purple and led zep
No, they're not progressive rock. Maybe they have some songs that could be described as it, but I think the Magician's birthday album is as prog as it gets. Great album though, and great band.
haha...yeah I'm jealous too! God! there is one thing I want to do before I die...And this thing is...TO GO ON URIAH HEEP CONCERT (and they must play The Wizard, July morning, Gypsy, Look at yourself, The Magicians birthday, The Park, Fallen Angel, Falling in love, Free n easy, wise man, firefly, far better way, Come Away Melinda, Something or nothing, Salisbury, Paradise/The spell!) lool...like that's gonna happen
Never heard their music before so I won't make any judgements - but that is quite possibly the worst band name I have ever heard.
Hahaha ... I think it is pretty cool name . Well anyway! John Lawton gave me an autograph yesterday !
Salisbury kick ass! Lady in black was the first song I heard from Uriah Heep. I still love it. Ken Hensley is great singer .
I am new here and just caught this topic. I absolutely love Uriah Heep. Especially the new stuff! I noticed that mostly the two eras mentioned were Byron and Lawton. The next two recorded singers weren't that great and the next singer lasted only three months but why not mention the amazing talents of Bernie Shaw?!

I am so jealous! I am waiting for US dates to be scheduled but no such luck. Bernie Shaw is my favorite singer!
Gypsy from the Live 1973 album is my favorite. I like to use that song to clean out my tweeters. Crank it up as high as it will go before the receiver shuts down and let that organ do the work.
