3X minimum wage~~WHAT! isn't minimum wage about $7.50? 3X's that would be $22.50. I ain't never had a job that paid that much.

 

i know it just jumped from 5.15 to 6.75 to 7.00 over the past 3 years in ohio, and the morons are trying to raise it again. i think the federal minimum is like 6.70 or something like that right now.

 

i'd be pretty damn mad at a place which likely has a very high turnover rate and lost my application

 

do you know how many apps such places get? wait a week and your app will probably be somewhere in a huge pile under 70 more recent ones...

plus when people come in acting blatantly retarded and fill out a horrible application, those aren't usually filed with the keepers; people keep them out to laugh at them for a bit and eventually the arrive in the garbage.

 

NO he wouldn't have gotten hired at the bar my grandma owns either. He would have gotten talked to and my uncle probably would have bitched him out.

If a job lost my application I'd be out of there. get organized or you don't deserve him. you don't like him because he sighed, but one of your co workers/managers is loosing filled out applications, which is worse?

I’m laughing out loud at the thought of you thinking that what you mention is anywhere close to “having it made!” If that's where I was now I'd consider myself a failure. Ms. Ramona is going to go a hell of a lot farther than that.

Attitude is far more important than skill. In a profitable business you can afford to teach skills to somebody with a good attitude, but in today’s market there is no need of gambling on changing a bad attitude.

i thought it was fairly clear that i don't consider that "having it made."

some idiot said that you have to make 3 times minimum wage in order to be semi-comfortable, and i obviously stated that having that money is not required to be comfortable. i'm currently living comfortably on slightly more than minimum wage.

yes, it would be nice to make substantially more. that doesn't mean doing so would constitute having it made, nor would i say that i have it made right now. really, it's a pretty subjective concept that has little to do with a specific amount of earning or a specific way of living.

 

If that's your attitude towards a fast food job, then good riddance to you anyway. If my company itself wasn't so damn shitty, maybe I'd have a different attitude towards that, but shit happens and if he felt that it was a problem at all, he should have just left. You say we "don't deserve him" like he's better than us just because he turned in an application that got misplaced.

 

I'm sick of businesses acting like they are doing you a favor by hiring you when you are the workhorse. You are an investment the company expects you to make them more profit than it costs to keep you on the payroll. I think he had every right to be annoyed. If you are losing applications who's to say you aren't going to be losing his paychecks too? The same way a company is looking for the most qualified individual for a position an unemployed person is looking for best job for them. If I were treated that way I would definitely be applying to some other places. This all coming from an unemployed person of course XD

having money (in most cases) gives you the ability to free up more of your time. when a person has more free time, he/she can choose to spend it doing the things he/she enjoys.. hence, a more personally fulfilling life

Yes, if paychecks are lost, they can and WILL be replaced within 24 hours, not to mention, we've never lost a paycheck. And who's to say the kid even actually put his application in? He also apparently said he had an interview, which he didn't and he's not the first, or the second, or even the third person I've seen come up there claiming to have an interview scheduled, when I was there when they applied and all they got was a "We'll give you a call if we decide to schedule an interview." I guess the people in this town think if they put in an app, they're automatically granted an interview.
