Cat got shot

My cat got shot in the side with a bb gun today. She is fine only is attacking everyone and everythinr in the house. I say I am justified to take the gun and shoot the asshole who did this if I see him. My mom disagrees. What do you guys think?

 

I say you should get him, tie him up and do funny things to his butt, then go find the guy who shot him and shoot him back.

what is justified and what is a good idea are often unrelated concepts.

there is no liberation without detatchment
and no paradise without the avoidance of causing harm

retaliation is a never ending circular pseudojustification that is never in and of itself a very good idea

perhaps one of the better solutions would be a visit to the shooter's parents by a uniformed officer of the law gently reminding them of the law called contributing to the deliquency of a minor and its possible penaltys

at any rate to take eye for an eye retribution would be to undermine the morality of your possition

but i certainly cannot say that it wouldn't be justified.
just not a real good idea considering the context of the time, world and society you probably live in.

what i am suggesting is that if the shooter is a minor (which you didn't say but i'm guessing) then his parents need a stern talking to about responsibility, and in either case the shooter certainly does at the very least.

and if he isn't a minor, there may be several charges that can be brought against him(?)

in addition to the obvious animal crewelty, there is the something called reckless endangerment which discharging even a bb gun, depending on circumstances might very well fall under. there may be local ordinances about the discharging of fire arms and local interpretations as to whether or not a bb gun falls under their deffinician of one.

it is unfortunate that legaly and socialy this matter should be so complicated but we live in complicated times and people not wanting to be bothered to really understand the potential consiquences of their actions is why we do.
