Whats up everybody? I was watching Waynes World the other day and do you remember when he takes Cassandra to show her the strat right before he buys it? Well she says something like she'd raise the bridge, file down the nut, and take the buzz off the lower E. How do you do that? I got the bridge thing I think but the rest I have no idea how to do.
lol "Raise the bridge" is obviously raising the height of the saddle at the bridge. "File down the nut" means filing down the nut--the little plastic, bone, etc piece between the neck and the headstock which holds the strings in place. Theoretically this would result in reducing the buzz created when playing the low E string (how Cassandra knows the low E has a buzz is never explained, most likely the writers just wanted to throw some technical mumbojumbo in there for comedic purposes and to illustrate how Cassandra knows her shit).
