wow 6 months already! time flies when you're not thinking about time. i'll upload better ones later when i have the time.
Did they shrink a whole lot, or do you have them folded in half? Either way, they're looking pretty good, looks like there's some nice fat ones growing in there!!
did they shrink? oh heck yeah they shrunk like mad. i lost a few feet of length. i didnt fold them in half, it just seems like the bottom hair dreaded upwards into the upper part of the hair. which is kinda cool i guess cause i'm getting some nice naturally rounded ends. but i do miss my long hair and i'm getting sooo tired of being constantly asked by friends "did you cut your hair??!!" lol
very very cute. i remember when i celebrated 6 months it was special so i had a birthday for them and still do every 6 months lol its been.....lets see, 3 and a half years old. how many dreads you got goin there?
well i combed one out, ripped one out, then added 3 new ones in my undreaded bangs lol but i just counted, i have 26
thanks everyone! here's some more: this one below is a close up of one of my rounded ends (alot have rounded out naturaly) below...it must be my color or hair or something but the pics like this never really look accurate, in the pics you can't discern the individual dreads very well: below you can see my 3 new ones (i think they're a few weeks old or so)
I like that cigar fatty dread!!! Nice pics! Thanks for sharing, always cool to see what other people's hair is doing!
wow, those look awesome! Very beautiful dreads. A lot of mine have rounded out by themselves already too.
im just curious, how did you start them? Did you just slowly start backcoming some hair in random spots? Those look great for 6 months.
thanks! i started out improperly educated. i used a little wax but not much because it felt and looked icky. then i sectioned them loosely (by that i mean i didn't checker-board section them, just grabbed sections with out too much sorting) and twisted them used a bit of hairspray too(LOL) i washed about 1 week later and they all came undone, thank god because i was able to wash out the wax/spray totally. so then i sectioned them the same way and backcombed a tiny bit. the first mont i washed once a week then after that 2-3 times per week with organic non-lauryl sulfate shampoo.
oh yeah and by the time i was finished backcombing except the very back i was tired so i stopped, then i put it off, and after about a week or two they had sectioned themselves out in the back on thier own, which was awesome.
I totally know what you mean by they section themselves. I have backcombed maybe 10 dreads or so, and I have about 30 now that have all started by themselves. Mine just seem to be very thin, so I am hoping some of them will congo
