I have entered a raffle to give a gift to the charity of my choice, and was just notified that I had won the raffle. I have had some ideas about what charity that I might like to donate to, but was wondering if any of you had any good ideas. Let me know. Thank you. I'd like to make the best of this great opportunity.

If it were me, I would find a family in dire straights and directly set up a fund for them. I hate to say this but it's true. Chairties do NOT pass ALL the donations on to the ones in need. They keep a % of it to cover the co$t of their stuff first and send what's left to the ppl.

I worked for some of these so called charities and above all Unicef was the worst keeping a whopping 78%. By the time any actuall && trickles down to the ppl in need it's only a pentance and only helps you one time for like that month. Big deal, that really doesn't help at all, just prolongs the fruitility of it all.

I think in my experience that *Habitat For Humanity* is doing something to actually make a change in ppls lives. You can see it, touch it and use it, you can even help build it.

You could also find a village in Africa or another needy country and build them a water and sewage system and save many lives. You could also help Katrina victoms, New Orleans area is still in horrible shape and the ppl are in dire need of help.

Whatever you decide, my adive is to Do It Direct, so the ppl will get the full benefit and the greedy corperations will not gobble up most of it.

    Great gesture on your part.

    Bright Blessings

I always donate to my local food bank. They are able to leverage cash donations into a lot of food. They're really in need these days.

Doctors Without Borders is another good one.
