im curious about how high my babies are gonna grow, im on my 3rd week of flowering and they still seem 2 be growing up the way, the biggest one at the moment is bout nearly 6 foot tall, is this normal? the reason im askin this is my light is up as high as it goes and i cant really afford 4 them 2 get any bigger as the light will end up burnin them. the light im usin is a 600w hps, all the plants are lookin great and hav plenty buds growing on them. is there any way i can get round this problem if they keep growing. :cheers2:
you can expect your plant to double in height from what it was at the start of flowering. so that fact that it is still growing in your 3rd week of flowering is normal. maybe another week or two and it'll be done growing.
Glad its not just me who's had this problem. They wont really stop growing till the last 2 or 3 weeks of blooming. You got 3 options bending or training them away from the light, cutting the tops off or taking a chance and letting them grow till they hit the top of your set up.
thanks 4 the info guys, checked up on my babies 2 day and the tallest 1 was more or less level with the light bulb but had antitcipated this so i moved her into the corner away from the bulb. i got a bit string ,pinned one end into wall and tied the other end 2 a cable so that it stops it from growing over 2wards the light and burnin the bitch lol. hopefully this shud stop it until it stops growing up the way or i am fooked. i hav one more question, i hav noticed on a couple of them that the buds are growing at the very top of plant and in the same place down the main branch all the way 2 the bottom but no where else, is this normal? all the other 1s look nice and bushy with plenty buddage, dont ask wot seeds i used coz i dnt hav a clue, didnt c the point in buyn premo seeds 4 my 1st time grow. many thanks and sorry bout all the questions
Cutting down on the nitrogen might help slow the upwards growth. If you mean on a couple of your plants the bud is just growing at the tips of the branches then this could be lack of light getting into the plant or genetics. What i normally do around the 2 week stage is remove the lower branches that are tiny and wont yield much and then over the next few weeks thin out some of the leafs so light can get down into the plant and trigger more bud growth be carefull coz its a fine line as a branch will still need some leafs to continue its bud production.
Also trimming you plants early in growing stages can widen out the plant and make it fill in more instead of growing straight up
