Posting here because it sees more traffic than the journal section. Starting first grow. Got 6 feminized chocolope seeds for 200 can. Then got a 1000w hps deluxe kit for 200 can off of kijiji. Right now the seeds are germinating in the paper/toilet/towel with two plates covering them to keep the light out and the air in. Gonna go floros for the first few weeks then switch it up. Still have to get the soil/nutrients tomorrow. Already have a temp/hygrometer and gonna acquire a digital ph read/soil moisture reader. gonna keep the temp around 23 - 28C with a humidity of 42 %. pics to come
its a cross of chocolate thai from the 80s and a haze to speed up the flowering,. apparently the thai is an incredibly sought after seed. probably why it was 200 for 6 fem'd seeds.
Ive heard of this weed before, well technically hash from that weed but basically the same thing. That shits the best of the best
theyre in the pots under some floros under a 18/6 lighting sched on a timer. some people say you dont have to worry about lighting just yet but i figure it cant hurt that much. only problem is its in the basement and its snowing out so its cold and the closet is at around 17! need to somehow bring that up. edit: using bottled water for the first two weeks (we dont have a ph level yet and bottled water is usually around 0 which is fine for now). After that is when we can start pumping. I have some nutrients that are 8-16-8 which is the best i could find. pics late tonight for sure.
I hear that chocolope is a very easy strain to grow but it does have one major drawback. It can become huge. So if I was growing it I would pinch it back a couple of times so that it will bush out and I would start flowering it no later than four maybe five inches. And for vegging, I would give it 24 hrs of light and I would have the flourescents as close to the plant as possible ---if not touching the plant. It is predominantly sativa, and I hear that the flowering time is also very long. Good luck! PAX
Yeah we're gonna have the floros right close. After two - three weeks we're crankin on the 1000w hps system . And yeah chocolope is known to get huge, i'll research into pinching.
i'm sure you know this and just mis-spoke, but bottled water should have a pH around 7 (neutral) not 0 (insanely acidic) good luck with the grow
You probably should have just grown some quality bag seeds to learn how to grow properly instead of buying six seeds for 200. You could mean that this is your first time growing chocolope, but thats not what the post read like. Good luck, hope it works out for ya.
