I just thought I'd start an Oblivion thread, seeing as its one of the greatest games ever created. Just post random glitches or hints. Or talk about your characters. I just recently got the game but already love it. My character as of now is: lvl 15 wood elf I really like using sneak and shooting bows, right now I have shadowhunt for a bow but it wasn't as amazing as I expected. I haven't really started the mainquest much Have really good lockpicking skill Thieves' Guild and Dark Brotherhood. What are your characters and thoughts?
I loved it when i had it i plan to get it for chrismas again cause one of my friends broke mine.Lvl 7 thieves guild and dark brother hood to.You should check out fallout 3 same deal differnt setting.
I Created an Dark Elf Battlemage. However I soon discovered a disliking to sword play, and instead focused heavily on Destruction magic. As well as Alteration, Conjuration, Mysticism and Alchemy. I soon shot up to master in Alchemy, as I created potions from every Single ingredient I came across during the game! I liked descruction magic. With one hit I could knock down a foe with my( not sure if it was electric shock or ice bolt) hands. The Dark Elf was very useful during the main quest of the game, as they are able to resist the fire damage from foes in the Gates of Oblivion. Plus they have +10 bonus to Destruction magic. If I ever get my hands on an xbox360 and the game again, I will most likely create a pure magi character and also an additional character adapt at stealth and lockpicking. Overall I enjoyed the game. Dungeons and caves tended to be repetitive, you been in one then you have been in them all, as well as the music looping. But I liked the feel of the game and the longetivity. You can not complete every quest in an fortnight. I like how there are always little secrets to be found as you wander around the countryside or break into peoples homes at night. It can feel lonely, but the variety and content of the game makes up for this. Sometimes it can feel a little too easy to defeat foes when you start mastering skills. Then one becomes bored and sets off to find new needless chalanges within the game. Such as going on a killing spree or finding out all the different ways your character can die. Just when you think the game is superiror bigger than any other game, you run into an invisible wall as you stumble along an icy mountain range, and told you can not go no futher.
i have countless hours into it on my ps3 made several chars 30 to 40+ lvls. few elves who use mainly bow. Kajhit and argonain chars. a few orcs who just plow through anything with physical attacks using maxed blunt weapon. I always try to get to at least lvl 23 before starting the dark brotherhood. i do this because its either lvl 23 or 21 where the whole game opens up for you in terms of items dropped. when i then start the dark brotherhood almost all of my stats are maxed and now theyh can go higher than they could if i started lower. plus the items are stronger than they would be given at lvl 10. that guild gives you some of the best items in the game. wish there were more quests even though it has the most out of any guild. being a vampire makes oblivion so much fun.
nope at stage 4 you have full night vision. forget what the spell is called. but i assure you, you can =) your a vampire bro if they didnt let you see in the dark then WTF?! but you can.
pssh, if you don't sleep or wait after feeding the disease won't advance so you can still walk in the daylight. And you get a strength bonus that's kick ass. I got it when it first came out and beat the game with a Nord Warrior who was kick ass, but then I lost my disk. Right now I'm playing as a Redguard archer. I am just staying at level 12 because I like to max out my skills before I advance too far. PS) The skelaton key is kickass.
just got this game and have just started. it looks great so far......i saw the walkthrough in game the other day, its HUGE. think i'll finish fo3 before getting into it to much. they are meaty games. getting a 360 has postponed my life!
its a fun game. I love how you can customize your characters looks and class. it's silly you can't dual wield weapons. i know you can mod the game to do so but I'd rather not play the game the way its not meant to be played. I think they need new spell options. they need more spells that do more diverse things. more summoning spells, temporary enchanting spells for items, maybe a spell that lets you fly, how about a necromancy college, maybe some more divination spells.
This was a very cool game. I got it from a friend, and played it for quite a while. However, I think the 'chore' of having to close the Oblivion gates really took all the fun out of the game for me, even though that was kinda the main objective of the game. I just wanted to run around and check out the pretty scenery. Oh well.
i think im a 37 wood elf. ive only got the theives guild finished but i have finnished all of them in the past 100 conj 100 sneek 100 mystiscism 100 restoration my acrobatics is well over 100 with enchantments and i can jump onto low city walls this game is sick shit i love it
I've got a lvl 50 dark elf. He started out as mainly a mage but now his fighting skills are nearly as good. I've finished everything in the game except side quests which I am working through at the moment. When I have done that it is my plan to become a vampire and kill everyone in the game.
Three years later and this game is still good. Been playing the last few weeks. I'm getting warmed up for skyrim  Though i'm excited i will be playing skyrim on a computer.
I think it's a fun game. I downloaded some mods for the first time. They're supposed to improve some of the combat stuff... I like how when I run in the game, the camera moves more realistically now, and the weapons move more too in first person view. It also had a little surprise for me when I removed a bandit's mithril pants :ack2: was a very lucky bandit before I came along  haha I'm playing as a lizard person with a bow and dark seducer armor :2thumbsup: I use alchemy to make paralyzing poison for the arrows.
One of my favorites ever. Great game. I have about 120 hrs played on it (Dont know if thats a lot or not). I beat it and I think a did all of the guild challenges
