does anyone know how to go about getting birth control from planned parenthood without my parents finding out and whatnot?

what are the sorts of things i need to do?

i'm on the site, but it's not really helpful.

 

they support me, i'm still in high school, and I can do what I will, but it doesn't mean they won't find out.

 

I ain't sure how big deal this is in the States (are you from the US, aren't you? ) but here in the Czech rep., you don't need anything to get the birth control. You just go to your doctor, tell him about it, he tells you all you need to know and prescribes you the pills.

Europe.

 

go to a location. claim you have no health insurance. tell them you are having sex and don't want to get pregnant.

don't get into details, might make it harder for you to get it and they might make you just go to an OBGYN.

if you claim to not have insurance it's a lot cheaper and your parents will never know.

I don't how much they have changed since I first got birth control there, but they didn't seem to actually care if your parents knew, they were more interested in helping you while covering their asses. For me, they said you need to have this form signed by a parent. I took it outside, forged it, brought it right back in, and they did the exams and gave me my pills.

A warning though: DON'T take hormone based birth control if you smoke cigs. The risk of blood clots, though small, is devastating if it happens to you.

i don't smoke or anything, i rarely drink, i'm all around pretty good. i'm just blar, i don't want to go by myself, but i don't know who to ask to go with me. and grrr. lame.

 

why not tell your parents?

 

Just lie to them and say it's for acne. That's what I did. But my parents weren't stupid...so...yeah...lol.

you can easily get it without your parents find out... but there are ways to tell your parents without admitting you are having sex... ramona said acne... or better yet, tell them you get really bad cramps and have an extremely heavy flow and you need it to feel like a human being again.

 

lol ive said that at the hospital when they asked me if i was on the pill , and my grandma was sitting right there., i was so embarrassed.

 

yeah, i got plan B twice when i was 17 and the rents never knew. they would rather you be safe and healthy, so they keep things private.

Bunny you could also say your period's irregular. they almost forced me to go on the pill for not having a regular period.

Because you're 18, they don't need your parents permission to give you birth control. And because they're doctors, they will keep everything private. Don't you have a sis? Maybe she could go with ya.

I can't tell my parents because they are insanely conservative and would keep me in the basement at the notion of sex.

Why don't you want to tell your sis? Do you think she might not be supportive? Or would she tell your parents? I totally understand about conservative parents... trust me. Mine were the same way and wouldn't even let me get on the pill for cramps. You might just have to go alone.

 

Planned Parenthood will be NICE to you, don't worry. And there's nothing dumb about wanting to responsible for your sexual activity.

My sister has a way of letting things slip, and i can't risk it. i would rather go alone than with him. i just think i should seperate that, and doesn't it take a week to be effective? (i know that's horrible grammar, but i can't seem to figure out how to word that). Anyways, I want to get on it asap, and blar, i just don't know how. do i just show up? do i call in advance?
