I am goin to grow some shrooms and i willl use a pressure cooker to sterilize the jars. i plan on cooking them about 50 minutes. i know i have to then cool them. i planned on letting them cool for about 3 - 4 hours, then taking the jar out and letting it cool overnight, but outside of the pressurecooker, seeing as too if my parents see the pressure cooker out and look inside, well... there goes my shrooms. so the question is, is this method ok? 3 -4 hours cooling in the cooker then the rest of the time in my room?
also, during the fruiting process, do my cakes have to be under constant daylight/flourescent light? or can it be a few hours a day?
How about bringing the cooker into your room and letting it cool there? And as for the lighting, during the fruiting process, the proper amoun of light is approximately 12/12 (12 hours on, 12 hours off). Try to use a flourescent light, or even better, real sunlight. You do realize that if shit hits the fan and you get caught that your parents will get the same sentence you do, right? Manufacturing a schedule I substance isn't taken lightly in court. I've grown in my mom's house, but it was with her permission. That being said, I'm not gonna help on this one. Wait till you have your own house.
Yeah, we're not ragging on you for living with the rents. Its the fact that they can get in DEEP shit for YOUR actions. Waiting until you move out is smart. Avoid getting busted by your parents, avoid screwing your parents, and avoid the hassle of having to do everything ninja style. And, to answer your question, wait until the PC'r gauge goes down to zero. Otherwise, you could be doing the best impression of that old guy in a pickup truck taking the radiator cap off in the desert.
I did it living in my rents house. They left town for a weekend so i did the sanitizing and inoculation while they were out of town. nothing better then spending $35 for materials with a yield of about 3oz and i didnt sell a cap.
