    Cross-party fury over MP's arrest

edit: I should add that he was arrested over alleged Home Office leaks.

Hehe, the Tories get a taste of their own medicine. I'm crying crocodile tears :D

Seriously though, this is what happens when you take away more and more freedoms and no one stands up to stop it.

Yeah, sweeping powers brought in under the banner of preventing terrorism, I'm sure they will never be abused.

The first incident like this can be put down to incompetent and overzealous policing, its the 2nd and 3rd times this happens you have to start worrying.

from what I can gather, the information was a draft statement from the Home Office warning that as the recession develops there will be a corresponding increase in property and violent crime, and that far-right groups may become more popular due to anger at immigrants taking up UK jobs.

This seems a reasonable and not unheard of analysis of what happens in a recession, and certainly its' leak does not present a threat to national security. Worth hearing about in the public arena I'd say, though not exactly a secret in the first place, but perhaps there was some malicious intent to stir things up against the Government by making the leak?

This credit crunch is nothing the big thing will be peak oil , the government know this .

Id like you to listen to a speech from nick griffin from 2005 , hes not a visionary but dont think the mans stupid .
basically its to american nazis and hes saying for 50 years we have been losing but somethings going to give us the best chance we will ever have
peak oil and a huge depression , happy well fed people wont vote for us but soon those days are over prosperity is ending, and a well organised nationalist movement can succeed .
revolutions happen in bad times , worked for the nazis worked for the french revolution
    its quite chilling .
anyway I dont think that the bnp membership list being leaked was a accident and I wouldnt be suprised if it wasnt M15 trying to stop people joining the bnp in a time of looming crisis

Id listen to the rest of the speech too how hes talking about how they intend taking over europe the second and third parts when he looks at revolution

I know that, but if this leak is about the government being fearful of the rise of the bnp it is something they might organise and they have both happened at similar times.

If this leak is about an expected rise in support for the bnp because the government expects a depression, it’s interesting to know that that’s what the bnp and the far right hopes for because they see that as their route to power.

What would be the motivation of someone leaking that the government was afraid of the bnp?

Far from the government being worried about the rise of the BNP, it would appear from legislation over the past two years they are doing everything they can to facillitate the rise of an unelected and undemocratic government.
Infact the three main parties are actually nothing more than one party fooling the public into believing there is some kind of opposition when there is no opposition within parliament.

The BNP and a few of the left wing parties offer opposition but none of the three main parties inside parliament really opposes anything the government has done.
i havent heard any party ask for a national referendum on anti terror laws or ID cards, or legislation on the powers of the European parliament and yet fundamentally there is nothing stopping any party doing that.

I dont hear any party speaking out in parliament against any legislation or statutory powers of the state apparatus.

that is left to people outside parliament !
