I haven't been on this forum for that long. None of you guys probably know who I am or even recognize my name. I just came on here to state one thing: I've decided to stop using the computer (of course, unless it's for educational purposes). Well, no more spending hours browing the internet. I decided this in school this morning, in science class. I'm a freshman in high school; I have things to do, places to see. I don't want to look back and remember me sitting at the computer. I don't want to be like one of those typical teenagers who sit in a haze at the computer for hours at a time. When I grow up, I want to be a musician. A great bass player that's in a great band, and I can't achieve that dream when I'm staring at a screen all day. Do you think Jimmy Page sat all day at the computer? I don't think so.
Computers are great tools, and should be treated as such. I dont spend hours in haze, I spend my time getting thinngs done, and in the time where I am surfing I greatly enjoy it. But computers are part of the world we live in, and just abandoning the use of it can make you computer illiterate. Which can really get you taken advantage of in this day and age.
Computers offer the greatest source of freedom in this world! Well, the internet actually, the exchange of free information, the ability to talk about/discuss any subject on anything you want, and make any information readily available to anyone, anytime worldwide, it is an amazing piece of technology..
Well, good luck. But just a little time on the computer now and then for fun on the forums can't hurt, you know.
first what bass guitar you use? second do you like billy sheen (plays with steve vai) third you can learn stuff on the computer about BASS playing!!
I dunno if I could ever quit the computer. I'm so addicted to the net and games that I'd be lost. I would really love to just pitch the damn thing out the window sometimes but I couldn't imagine the withdrawal.
Surprisingly enough, I recognised the name TangerineMountain. Best wishes to you in the years to come! I hope you accomplish what you're setting out to achieve.
