I love Hip Forums and I love the freedom to ask anything and say anything I like, so has anyone here ever felt as though there post was edited or censored in some way?

definition of censored is when a GOVERNMENT interferes with speech based on content.
This is a private site, so NO ONE has been censored.

aren't moderators GOVERNING the board, sometimes deleting posts (speech) that are deemed inappropriate? how could that NOT be censoring???

I was a super mod at one time , and the only time a mod really steps in and changes something is if it was an attack , or a post that contained something which went against the policy of Hip forums.
Or if the poster asked for the thread to be deleted.

We cannot control how people feel about the moderating- nor can we mitigate that there will always be people who feel entitled to post whatever they like regardless of how it affects everyone else and the integrity of the boards. Contrary to what some will insist on believing this is not their personal space to vandalize as they see fit.

Drawing moderating into question via open discussion is not encouraged as it will detract from the content of the board. If there is any question it is best to PM a mod with your concerns... remembering that like most interactions, the manner of the approach (to the mod) can greatly affect whether there is a response as well as the nature of it.

There are many different discussion forums and an abundance of threads in which a member may participate without calling out the moderating which is far from easy and done by volunteers whose only remuneration is the satisfaction that they are helping maintain the resource so that regular people can join and sound off on any number of topics free of charge.
