I know there are a bunch of threads like this, sorry.

A quick overview of my situation: I live in southern Louisiana. I went over to my friend's newish house and saw a plant that looked very similar to pictures of salvia divinorum I have seen. This plant has been there for an unknown amount of time(at most the age of the house - 8 years, but i doubt it), there are many plants in the flower gardens around his house. There are a few plants that look like this plant but have different colors or have the same color with thin leaves. I took pictures with my phone:
(Before judging take note that many plants are growing close to each other which makes it hard to isolate the plant in the pics, look at what i have in my han)

^^ That is the "trunk" that goes sideways to the front of the garden to form branches that form the individual plant, it is a square stem.

^^These leaves are the small ones towards the flower

    Bigger leaves^^
BTW First post. Cheers! Sorry if I broke any rules, I saw something about image posting but it wasn't very clear

Are there any features that are unique to S.D. that you can't see from the pic? If my friend dried out a large leaf and smoked it, is there any chance of it being extremely poisonous?

Did I say it was in the wild? No. It was in a flower bed around a friend's house which was owned by a few different people. The person he bought it from was an artist. I also realize it is unlikely but if there is a chance it is then why not try to find out about it?

Ok, I have come to the conclusion that it is Indigo Spires Salvia and am not going to try to do anything with it. Thanks for the help.

I did not realize how many sage/salvia plants there are that resemble s. divinorum.

I'm now looking for a place to buy a S. divinorum plant.

i think you can order them online sometimes. but thatd be about the only place to buy one besides Oaxaca. maybe some kinda nursery in america carries them, but most likely not. and its hard to grow and take care of, or so i hear, but itd definitely be worth it.
