Anyone in Ballarat or nearby ? (Melbourne?)

i'm a ukrainian student coming to the Ballarat University in february...

i'd really love to talk to people from around there... even if it's not ballarat itself...

this trip makes me feel so excited but at the same time i'm really nervous...

Ballarat is nice, and not far from Melbourne. You'll love it too. Shame you are not arriving a bit sooner tho, cos there is a lot to see. Feb is hot too, very hot! Youl'l feel it especially coming from a european winter. Just make sure you drink plenty of water! and get some sunscreen! like factor 30. I often see the Brits come out here in the summer and they burn quickly in the sun! After a day in the sun they all look like Lobsters!
I'm in Melbourne, a great city. I came here for a holiday 4 years ago, and Melbourne is now my home. Australia is a great place as i know you'll find out. Australians are very friendly people, and I have made many great friends here. So don't be nervous, you'll love it!

thanks very much for your answer !!! you're right, i'll quickly find out that australia is great... i think i just need to get used to the idea. february is coming fast, and once it's here, it will be "far from everyone" for a year. luckily, my boyfriend is coming with me, though he'll be arriving in the beginning of march (so that i'm not alone for my birthday at least !!! )
