My husband, who doesn't have dreads but has perfect dreading hair told me he had a dream where he had locks and he said they looked amazing. In his dream he couldn't stop checking himself out they were "that beautiful" I was getting high hopes thinking he'd become my dreadlocked soul mate when he said "but I couldn't ever get them in real life, I'd be frightened that I'd not like them and it'd be a bitch getting them out I still have nightmares from when I took out your first set." talk about getting a girls hopes up... One day I hope he makes that plunge hehehehe I used to have dread dreams all the time, only I'd be brushing them out or they'd fall out in my sleep onto my pillow and I'd wake up in sweats. Anyone had any funny/scary dreadlock dreams?
When I had my first set of dreads, I had random dreams about losing them. This time around, no dreams like that. Whereas my hubby, who is on his first set-5 years old, dreams about losing his locks on a fairly regular basis.
thats the same dream i have when ever i remember my dreams. and every time it seems very real so i wake up to check if i have dreads still. makes me feel pretty silly.
my friend had a dream once where I cut them all off and made a collar out of them. like a giant poofy one like some of the old renaissance folks.
That was a reoccurring dream for the first 6 months or so. I will occasionally have one but not nearly like I did when I first started.
i had a dream, that "this" (getting dreads) was a dream, and i woke up after 3 months of progress, with my old hair.... some what un-settling, i think its cause i was thinking to my self before i went to sleep that if i had to do it all again i wouldn't get them backcombed, would go 100% natural from day 1, meh...alls good, baby locks are still here.
hey buttrfly)i( your t-shirt in your signature rocks! anyway, can't remember having such dreams. dont think i ever had 'em. hug.
I had a dream when I was visiting my parents last month that I combed my hair out. Next morning I gave my mom shit for trying to influence me in my sleep.
i was walking home one day and i gave a little tug on one of my locks and it popped off. i did it again and another popped off. so i took the locks off like a hat. for some reason i put them back on, and they changed into my old set of red locks. they became like real hair again, and when i realized these inconsistencies I woke up... horrified. i think if you realize that your dreaming there is a huge chance that you will wake up.
sometimes, or sometimes you start lucid dreaming. you can learn to make yourself lucid dream, it's nuts. also, sometimes you can have a "false awakening" where you think you've awoken but you're actually still dreaming... it's bizarre.
i've done that, where you realize you're dreaming. i don't remember a lot of them, but one time i forgot that i was dreaming when i had already realized i was earlier and i slipped back into the dream. dreams are weird, i've had a lot of weird things happen to me. i've had that false awakening. sometimes ill take a step and trip, or miss a step or something and i wake up thinking im falling. another time in a dream i walked down some steps. i kept hearing this tearing sound and i couldn't figure out what it was. i woke up and realized it was my legs brushing against my blanket. lol, i was sleep walking, but on my back. this takes the cake though, because its terrifying. sometimes ill wake up and i wont be able to move at all. im not even sure if i can look around. im conscious, i try to talk but i cant. i can be like this for a while until my toes and fingers eventually start to move, followed by the rest of my limbs.
I've been reading books on dreaming, and dream dictionaries, and studying dreams for probably 20 years now, and I can tell you that this dream is normal. The "not being able to move" experience is common. I have not encountered it, but I have read that it is shared by a large number of people (not anomalous). Don't let those freak you out. Maybe it's time to start training your brain to enter a lucid state?
yep, i get that, too. all the time since i started practicing lucid dreaming. it is AWFUL! sometimes my eyes will be open and i will see the room i'm in hazily but i will be fully paralyzed, try as i might to sit up.
I had a dream 2 nights ago that they all fell out and I had my boring straight hair again. I can definitely put it under the nightmare category. It has to be because I've been thinking about my hair so much lately.
i just had a serious nightmare. i was stabbed with razor blades and robbed by three people at work and then no one believed me. i had to clean up my stuff at work while bleeding from my abdomen and then when I went to tell the boss she started running from me. agh, i woke up in a big pile of sweat. i'll never forget these faces.
every time i dream about my dreads they are always scratching together making really loud noise like pans crashing
