songs like "Layla" and "Bell-Bottom Blues" show that Eric Clapton is the best guitarist of all time.

The 1968 Beatles song "Sexy Sadie" was made for Eric Clapton to cover. it's like Jimi Hendrix covering Bob Dylan's "All Alonmg the Watchtower". Eric Clapton would have made the best version of all time. Eric Clapton was meant to cover "Sexy Sadie" in the 1970's but he blew it and instead a guy who sounds like Clapton covered it instead.

It was Eric Clapton's destiny to cover "Sexy Sadie" and he blew it.

If you want to hear some good Clapton, check out "Steppin' Out" from Live Cream Vol. II. Also, any of the various, live Yardbirds' songs have some great guitar work in them.

They didn't say "Clapton is God" for nothing.

I find Claptons guitar playing boring, like cleaned up blues. Not my thing, I do like his playing on While My Guitar Gently Weeps and a few others, but he gets on my nerves, plus he married a girl from my little sisters soccer team.

Yea Lucifer, no joke, she's older than 22 though, more like late twenties now, they own a house here in Columbus and are sometimes seen together as weird as it sounds.

I declare that the best guitarist likely plays flamenco or jazz, not classic rock...although since it is a subjective opinion, debate may continue even though Paco De Lucia is probably the true champ, even though music should not be treated like a competition or sport.

yeah I agree....claptin is boring......hey may be a great guiitar player but he's not a very interesting one.....hendrix now that is some interesting guitar playing...its like the guitar was invented with the idea of him playing it in mind.

Face it guys, Clapton is a boring middle aged, bearded, englishman who did nothing but steal material from african american blues musicians and water it down

Django Reinhardt was better, and he had two fingers fused together in a fire.

Here are the two Gypsy masters

Well, I never said that he was the greatest guitarist or anything. I just said to check out his work with Cream and the Yardbirds, which I find to be much better than his solo work.

the instrumental guitar solo at the end of "layla" sounds amazing. it is sad, melancholic and makes me numb.
